Summon creature animation if duration expires

When a summoned creature expires from skill duration instead of something killing them beforehand, some of their despawn animations look… lame.

Summoned thieves vanishing into thin air? That’s cool. Illusions shattering? That’s also cool.

Druid spirits and Guardian weapons that just blink out of existence? Not so cool. Ranger spirits that seemingly trip over an invisible rock and dying? Even less cool. Fire elementals that seemingly trip over an invisible floating rock and dying? Well now that’s just silly.

I’d imagine that nature spirits would have that same vanish animation like the thieves but with brambles instead of smoke, and fire elementals would fly back up out of view.

Don’t get me wrong here. I understand that taking a task like this may take an unreasonable amount of time and resources, and the end product may not mean or help much, but it was just something that’s on my mind and I wanted to share it.

In regard of animations, alot of thigns could be done really much better in GW2 to be less immersion breaking, more fun, or just cooler/fancy and effectful to look at.

Crafting as a simple example.
its just an animationless boring to look at mechanic without any crafting animations at all, we don’t even get to see, how our characters create all those things, that they craft. Some cheap F2P do even about this a better job, than GW2 so far.
Its one of GW2’s systems, that has more potential to be more fun, that could require a redesign to be less of a chore, nicer to look at, more overviewable, more alt friendly in regard of all the tons of recipes that should be accoountbound rather than characterbound…

Emotes
GW2 seriously lacks alot of emotes, and its a shame until today, that GW1, its prequel even had far more emotes, than GW2 does have.

Waypointing, Home Portal Stone, Asura Gates and Logging Out
Would be really nice, if these thigns would get some animations to be less immersion breaking and about boring loading screens.
If a player uses a way point or logs out, it would be awesome, if other players could see some kind of Teleportation Animation (which could be same as sellable, like Mail Skins, Finishers, Minipets ect. its just visual cosmetical fluff for that people surely would pay to have somethign more unique for character individualization over that boring lame just simple “poof” and you are away without an animation at all.

Same goes with Asura Gates..I’d find it awesome, if we coudl get some kind of “Gate traveling sequence” to see, instead of the loading screens, which shows us, how our characters travel via the gate from A to B

Skill Skins
Would be awesome, if ANet would ever come up with Skill Skins that we could unlock in the game, for earning achievements for example, or also from gemstore, buying via karma ect. just to give that currency again more value to add this way also alot more customization options.
The best thing (also easiest) ANet could start with is with adding different new Summon Skins

  • different Skins for Necromancer Minions
  • different Skins for Elementalist Elementals
  • different Skins for Guardian Spiritual Weapons
  • different Skins for Engineer Turrets
  • different Skins for Thief Guildies
  • different Skins for Ranger Pets
  • different Skins for Nature Spirits
  • different Skins for Mesmer Phantasms (that Phantasms currently are just brighter Clones with just special attack mechanics is lame, I think they should look very differently from simple Clones to seperate more CLones from Phantasms to make their differences more clear, also visually)

I for exampel absolutely dislike the terribly ugly design of the necromancer minions and would change out their skins in a heartbeat, if we ould have more options for better looking Minions, that really look more scary, terrifying and fearsome.
GW1’s Flesh Golem for example looked alot better for my taste, than the GW2 version of it.

Also in GW1 they could be alot bigger (because the level of them was responsible for their size also too)
How I’d wish to have this design of Flesh Golems back again for GW2 as a Flesh golem, thats by design also bigger, than the current version.
maybe name that Flesh Golem Reskin then “Flesh Behemoth”

The summoning and expiring animation for things like elementals, nature spirits, spiritual weapons ect surely could be improved and I’m sure, there would be enough people willing to pay for these visual enhancements also too if it must be, when it ensures, that the game simply will get in regard of this in the future just also more love and consistantly more visual styles added, like anet does it constantly with minipets, finishing moves, outfits and lately since its introduction now also those mail skins.

So why not increase this cosmetical stuff with Skill Skins, more Emotes, Craftign Animations and Traveling Animations too ???
Alot of potential here for GW2 and far more potential for ANet to make some easy money with it too whereever they see fit with it.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside
