Sundial for minimap.
Or, since you are just standing around, you could use the Wiki’s Day/Night schedule page.
Just a suggestion while you wait for it to be implemented.
Good luck.
Forgot about that. Still annoying.
You can have one for piles of gold
you can also get any ascalonian weapon on that character and when you want to know if it is night or day then just equip that AC weapon for a moment and check if it is glowing blue (night) or just normal (day)

I’ve been using the glow-in-the-dark skeleton mini. Now that minis don’t disappear permanently, it’s an easy way to see if it’s day or night (plus: fits the upcoming holiday).
the day /night lasts for 2 real world hours.
there is a 5 minute dawn, 70 minute day, 5 minute dusk and 40 minute night rotation within those 2 hours.
once you remember those you will easy know what part of the in game day is by just checking your real world clock

Nope. I’m aware of the 2 hours; I simply cannot remember to which RL hours they correspond. I can manage to keep track of the difference between the EU, US/West, US/East, Sydney, and Japan for a conference call… but somehow my brain just refuses to remember day|night for GW2.
I’m happy to have the crutch of my mini to keep track for me.
If you’re in the Grove you can watch the sylvari – if their hair is glowing then it’s night time.
It’s not always immediately obvious on all of them, either because they have a subtle glow or because there aren’t many places on their model where it shows. (You’re more likely to see it on players because they tend to go for something which stands out.) But if you watch a few you’ll see it.
