So I’ve come to this conclusion. But I need people’s votes, one or the other?

I’ll either get Sunrise (Eventually Eternity) for my Female Norn Warrior and go with a crit/burst Build.

or

I’ll go with my Male Norn Guardian. I’ll Carry Moot and The Flameseeker’s Prophecies. A pure Tank Build. (Toughness, Vitality and Healing Power)

Sunrise if you’re a fan of Dark Souls and wan’t to praise the sun. Moot if you want to not be a casual and use GS like everyone else.

As a guardian player, I HATE the Moot (why a disco ball!? WHY!?), but I love the Flameseeker Prophecies. So that gets my vote. Plus, as precursors are made more and more readily available to casual players, the greatswords are eventually going to become a dime a dozen.

imo the moot looks cooler. and looks “rarer”. I mean both twilight and sunrise do look cool, but if it were me, I’d rather go for a cooler-looking-but-less-popular weap :p

i have FSP and having 2 legendaries equipped at once is a perk of using 1h weapons

Everyone and their mother seems to have Sunrise or Twilight currently.

Well to start with you are making poor choices for weapon combos. Focus is a better for most situations for defensive guardian with a shield being used situationally, and axe/axe or axe/mace is consider better and proven to do more DPS than GS for warrior.

HB and whirling are still better than Axe / mace or axe.
Axe used to be nice until they “fixed” the 3rd chop combo that cannot be canceled effectively anymore.

Best to use GS + Axe as secondary for a quick single target adrenaline dump.

i doubt the truth in this statement. it depends on what he’s doing. i myself run a sword/shield//scepter/shield and i have absolutely no problems in pve, dungeons nor wvw. besides, he can’t change his shield out for the legendary focus now can he?

Um, not fact. Not to derail the thread but ONLY run a mace and shield in dungeons and people are pretty dang thankful for my heals and overall survivability. I “tanked” Kohler the other night for a pug without meaning to. I just looked and they were all LoS-ing him. lol

ANYWAY……

I’d go for the Moot AND Sunrise.

The reason for this is that (precursor notwithstanding) the unique materials needed for the Moot are easy as pie to get.

100 Opal orbs (just over 2g on the TP)
5 Boxes O Fun (you decide how you get these, gold or real money)
Gift of the Nobleman (probably the biggest downside since this dungeon isn’t especially good)
250 Gossamer Bolts

But most importantly…….NO LODESTONE REQUIREMENT.

So I’d get it first and marvel at it’s majesty while you work towards sunrise.

argument null and void. who said pug = bad? there is nothing to discuss if there are no coherent points. i will say this: my followers list is huge from carrying groups. and i do it with my shield. no doubt.

it’s anecdotal, but i will never give up my shield for a focus as i’ve tried it and it does not suit my playstyle.

OP, go moot. the new effects are amazing and sunrise is tired and old if you’re going for aesthetics

I got moot for my warrior. Its an awesome skin, so based on that bias i vote for that
