I run greatsword/staff with sigil of life on GS. Seemingly at random I’ve been losing my stacks. I thought the only time you lose stacks are when changing borderlands, or going into the downed-state? Apparently you now lose stacks when going underwater(I haven’t tested this)? Now the way to fix this I’ve been told is to put a Sigil of life on one of my underwater weapons. Is this the way stacking sigils are intended to work or is it a bug? I’ve never lost my stacks while going underwater before. Why the sudden change?

As part of the as changes implemented to disallow the workaround for keeping stacks you will now lose your stacks when transitioning between land and water if you don’t have a sigil for both sets.

Either an undocumented change to stacking sigil behavior to patch the (possibly unintended) loophole of stacks persisting on land without a sigil on the land weapon due to the sigil still being on the water weapon, or it is a new bug with stacks and how they function. We do not know really as they aren’t answering any of the pleas for information on it.

When gaining stacks under water and then going onto land, sometimes the stacks remain despite no stacking sigil being on the land weapons. However, those stacks mysteriously disappear after a few minutes with no real cause.

Other times the stacks immediately disappear once exiting to land in the same situation…it is very inconsistent and buggy it seems.

Also, stacks sometimes get lost even when waypointing to another area in the same zone as where the stacks were acquired. For some they get lost, for others they persist. I think this has to do with MegaServer where the players who lose their stacks when waypointing elsewhere in the zone are actually placed into another instance of the map and this causes their stacks to disappear. Those that WP within the same zone and have stacks remain are simply lucky that they were placed into the same MegaServer instance of the zone as where they acquired the stacks.

Basically, ignore anything to do with your stacking sigils for at least a week or two while it gets sorted out whether this is intentional and with some bugs that need to be fixed, or unintentional and will (eventually) be fixed to function like they did earlier in the month.

When you go underwater you switch weapons. The release notes say that when you switch weapons you lose the stacks previously built up. The work around is that you need the same sigil on the weapon switched to to maintain the stack.

No and No.

When u go underwater u ‘swap’ to your underwater weapons.
According to the 15 April patch notes, u loose stacks when u ‘unequip’ the weapon with the stacking sigil.
‘swapping’ is NOT ‘unequipping’

It’s the game telling you “swap out your awful life sigil”.

Guess I get to spend the next couple weeks acting like a cat. Thanks for the heads up I was wondering why I was losing my stacks and there is no way I am putting a superior sigil of bloodlust on my underwater weapon.
