Surrounding the karma nerf
The Karma nerf was heavy handed.
There are two types of general groups of players in GW2 in regards to karma:
Group 1: Has not ground out a legendary. These people often say they have to much karma and have trouble finding places in game to spend it productively.
Group 2: People who have ground out a legendary. These people have no karma left after the Mystic Clover RNG love fest.
Not sure what you guys are complaining about. I have gained like a million karma since the nerf. karma is still easy to gain to the point i have never worried about it.

It’s no longer gained with all play styles though. Running events gains you the same amount of karma, however a sungeon lover had their karma significantly reduced having in mind that dungeons now give 0 karma (how hard would it be to at least give 400 a path?) and the casual daily doer had their karma hit hard.
I’m at 200K karma right now. Managed to get 1 legendary before the nerf. It’s been a few months and in order to get even semi enough for another I would probably have to work for a year.
Hopefully they release more things to use karma for since they now have a tighter grip on how karma is gained.

They already started with ascended crafting. 21k for an inscription and oby shards being used in the refinement process now.
I think since the change, I’ve managed to get ~200k-300k karma from my mostly normal play (usually just world bosses or random events), though really this hits newer players or older players who didn’t keep any spare karma from pre patch.
I hope they eventually raise the karma gain a bit (maybe not as high as it used to be, but somewhere in the middle), but also give extra options to spend karma. Random example that I just thought of: trade 100k karma for 1 laurel, a guild commendation, or a (possibly random) lodestone. (Could help alt-alohics gear up in ascended trinkets, help smaller guilds get commendations quicker, help lessen the cost of legendaries)
Not saying those ideas are great, but it gives more uses for karma. As it stands, unless you want a legendary or temple armor karma still doesn’t have many uses (sure ascended weapons do take some karma, but not that much by comparison).

Maybe easy for you, but I spend mine as fast as I get on things like shards and I am perpetually out of it.
Like all things recently, it was decided gear was being obtained faster than desired. To this end Karma was nerfed to slow down access to Legendarys. Time gating was brought in to control the access rate to ascended weapons (and soon, armor). Obviously as has been stated by official sources Exotics were obtained much quicker than desired.
