Guild Wars 2

I’m not sure of the best place for this post so I just decided on General Discussion.

I’m considering starting up a stream where the premise is surviving. This would be a PvE oriented stream where the goal of my adventure is to reach 100% map completion with zero deaths. I would try to be as interactive as possible by allowing (potential) viewers to choose things like my race, class, weapon setup, and even gear colors. I’d want (potential) viewers to say what is and isn’t allowed (example: crafting, using trading post, etc.) in order to make it interesting.

I’d top it off with the fact that if I die, I will give everything I’ve earned up to that point to a random viewer and delete the character for all to see (no matter how far I’ve come).

The point of this post is to gauge if people might be interested in watching a stream of this nature from time to time, cheering me on or even waiting to see me die.

Do you think this is something you would be interested in watching? If no, please tell me why. If yes, perhaps you can give me some suggestions of rules/class/race you would like to see in a stream like this.

I haven’t created the stream quite yet. I wanted to gauge the interest of the community as much as possible before spending the money on it (I’d buy a new copy of GW2 to show a clean slate on everything and a Xsplit subscription to stream with a decent look.) If a few people seem interested, I’d move forward with the idea.

Not sure there’s much of an interest in GW2 on Twitch.tv. Most of it is League of Legends or Starcraft 2. It’d definitely be a lot of work getting a stream going.

Also try OBS (Open Broadcast Software) 100% free and rivals the paid version of Xsplit.

I am being totally honest with you here. I am so srs right now mmkay? I would watch it, but in the the back of my mind I would be waiting for you to get to around 90% before failing horribly just so I can laugh

That’s the point of the audience! As a human creature, we might outwardly wish the best for someone, but inside we really just want to watch that someone crash and burn! I want to be that someone!

I’m glad to hear some support for the idea. I really do want to give it a go even if I only get 10 – 20 people watching. I figure things like giveaways and fan interaction would be fun. It’s always been a thought of mine to give away a legendary someday…

I’d watch it – and I like the fact that you’d have viewer participation in choosing facets of the gameplay like character, profession .. maybe let them choose your personal story options too?

It sounds like there might be some support for this idea and I’ll likely be going through with it. As a bit of a starter, if you are reading this, fill this out:

Race:
Class:
Story: (if you care)

You can also add things like no crafting or no trading post, certain weapon sets you’d like to see, or anything you can think of! I’ll evaluate how ridiculous it is and incorporate what I can.

Race: Human (their run animations bother me the least, lol)
Class: Thief (you have excellent survivability, but you’re also squishy, so it’s a good challenge)
Story: Street Rat, Sister taken by centaurs (haven’t seen/played that option yet)

No crafting, no trading post sales (you can buy stuff from the TP). Don’t mind what gear you have.

100% completion involves WvW. Unless you purposely delay the stream, people will use it to hunt you down. Even in PvE, people will try to train mobs to kill you.

If you want a challenge, no gear except weapons.

Well Healix, I guess that will just have to be part of the challenge. If I get viewers on my stream just trying to kill me, I suppose that is more viewers for me and more entertainment for people watching. Also, I might also get some people to come help me out if there is a fight to be had. Who knows? I’m not complaining.
