Drop rates for them and also for the infinite mystery tonic potion thingies were much higher back then. On headstart weekend I walked away with a black dye, an abyss dye, adn one of those tonics. And at least 10-20 other people that weekend on chat linked that tonic as well.

I got an abyss during Headstart.

I sold it. It was going for a mere 3g at the time.

I didn’t think that through. I mean, no one had any money, but it would have been far smarter to keep it until folks did have money rather than jump at the money for trait books.

I think it’s around 20g now

Worth can mean a lot more than how much money you can get from it.

To me Abyss dye was one of the best drops I’ve ever gotten because black is one of the main colours for my main characters armor. Didn’t make me a penny but I’ve gotten a lot of use from it.

Cool! I always sell the unid’d dyes, I figure the chances of actually getting something worth that much gold is < the 16 silver or so from selling an unid’d dye.

Most of the time: unidentified Dye = 16 silver, identified dye = 89 copper.

Wow, colesy, not cool, man. At least this player looted their abyss. I can almost guarantee you shelled out hard earned gold for that Dusk. Of course you’ll say you didn’t, but you did.

Depends on how you look at it. During headstart (and weeks into launch,) Dusk sold for 30-35g and you could buy a character slot (800 gems) for 2g or less…so it is all relative.
