So been away from the game for a long time and thinking about coming back. The weapon i would die to have is the Sword of Infinite Light but it was always so difficult to get.

Is it any easier to get to get now a days or is it still a huge grind?

Well, it still requires 250 charged lodestones which are about 3g a pop. Plus 250 sword blades at about 30s each.

So yes, it’s still very expensive and a huge grind. Map rewards really didn’t do anything for the charged lodestone price since pretty much nobody is running CoE anymore.

Hello and welcome back,
I hate to burst your bubble but it has actually gotten worst with the dungeon nerf. Considering that sword needs 250 charged lodestones and 100 mystic coins which are time gated now btw. Farming maps for lodestones with the new system is actually not worth it. Your best bet is the Silver waste chest train. Or just running all COE dungeon paths.

If you really want that sword you gotta work even harder now. Good luck

I don’t know how grindy it is now, but when I made mine it wasn’t too bad. Everything I did was invested towards it too, every mat I gained, I would sell and re use the gold to buy mats I needed.

Also asking guildies to trade mats can help a lot too, depending on your guildies of course.

I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.
….. And Elementalist.

Just ran around Mount Maelstrom doing events for a bit today. Got two Charged Lodestones, a Charged Core and some other stuff. Maybe I could have gotten more by farming gold in SW or somewhere else but it didn’t seem that bad.

It’s about 1/4 as difficult to get Infinite Light as it is to get a legendary. Imagine buying Infinite Light off the TP for 1k gold… and then having to drop another 3k gold on top of that, plus map completion, a bunch of WvW, and at least 8 runs of a specific dungeon.

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.

You get the percursor only. And it’s far from easy or cheap.

I just finished crafting Infinite Light about a week or two ago, and it was totally worth it. The first thing I did (over time, of course) was purchase the rest of the 500 cores I needed off the TP. Then I went for the sword blades.

When I was buying, cores went for just over 1g apiece. Add ~17s for a crystalline dust and 25s for a bottle of elonian wine and each lodestone cost me about 2.5g, which was far cheaper than buying them directly.

It’s a long process, but you get a cool skin out of it, so imo it’s totally worth it.

Maybe ill just have to put in the time and maybe some gem exchange for gold, though if i want it for my sword and shield holy guardian problem is S/SH guardian isnt the best lol

I have farmed several hundred Charged Lodestones from the sparks in Malchors Leap, if you load up on MF, you can get quite a few if you want to farm them specifically. This was a year ago now and I have not done it since. More Magic Find is now a lot easier to stack. My best in 1 hour farming there was 9.
