What do we have left? What did we actually get out of the latest patch?

10 minute solo instance, Orr-like overhaul on Kessex Hills, RNG Black Lion chest weapon skins, 3 new armor skins ( Gemstore ), New healing skill, PVP Finisher, Tool-tip fixes with minimal balance changes.

Is this really it? Am I missing something? Are these the kind of patches we are waiting for every 2 weeks? I know I am not.

I’m still trying to understand why a company is even giving us free content every 2 weeks. I’ve never heard of any other gaming company that does that, yet people still complain

You’re missing that Halloween still has a Finale to get underway.

Really? This disappoints you for a 2-week update? I mean really? Is this a troll attempt? They changed a giant section of a zone, added a solo instance complete with voice acting and new (albeit only slightly modified) enemies, a new healing skill, PvP finisher, weapon skins, armor skins, new events, new TYPE of monster (Elite).

I mean, OP……seriously?…..

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Yep, plus yay free!

Sadly, no matter what happens some people will complain.

1) There is too much content to get done in 2 weeks/I don’t have time to do what I want
2) There isn’t enough to do, I finished everything in less than 1 day!
3) This is way too much grind/there is no substance (kill 300 of X, press “F” 100 times)
4) Why are things time gated, I want to get it all done now.

5) Nothing ever changes with the living story
6) The LS changed one of my favorite zones! (sorry to those this is true for)

7) I want more solo content
8) I want more 5 man/dungeon/instanced content
9) I want more 10+ man content (not zerg)
10) I want more zerg content
11) I want what I’m doing to be profitable or there is no point in doing it

12) Content is too hard/dull/boring
13) Content is too easy/dull/boring

I could go on.

I mean sure, I’ve felt some of those ways about previous LS updates. But I am happy when there are shorter LS updates. (Do people remember the 13-15 hours required to do everything for the clockwork invasions, and having to wait for the 1 random map you were missing, which would only spawn 1/day if you were lucky).

I mean I am more than happy with what I’ve paid for this game, the LS may not be the best every 2 weeks, but I’ll take it as a free content patch and be happy with it. If I don’t like it, I can go back to what I enjoy doing in the game, and be none the worse for wear.

Well said, Wallace.

It must be difficult trying to keep the playerbase happy when it can’t make up its mind what it wants as a whole. Especially when it often says it speaks for the majority.

I really like this update, it’s exciting to me. And when I find one released I don’t care for, (like the 3 before Halloween, or so), there are plenty of other things I can do while I wait. I am thankful I don’t have to wait months and months …or even years for updates I will enjoy.

Thanks, ArenaNet…keep up the good work. (There are a few things that could use tweaking, but I am sure you will get to them, eventually.) =)

We’ve got new events in several other zones as well.

But considering the previous 2 updates (Tequatl and the Aertherblade TA path) were permanent content and I (and many other people probably) still haven’t completely finished them, the Halloween event is still going on, WvW Season 1 is running and for many people it’s the start of the run up to Christmas which means real life is getting busier I’m personally very happy to see a smaller update that doesn’t take as much time to complete.

I feel like I’ve got more than enough to do with the stuff already in the game and sometimes it’s nice to not have to devote so much of my play-time to the Living Story.

Plus I suspect this update is a bit like the early Flame and Frost ones – it’s small on it’s own but will build up to something bigger. (My guess is a new dungeon inside the tower.)

I have to agree with this statement. I too prefer to have a short Living story content. There is so much to do in this game I do not want to dedicate all my playing time to completing the living story. I am a casual player, only get to play about 10 per week, sometime upwards to 15 hours. Yesterday I was feeling ill so I did not go to college, so I had 4 hours of gaming yesterday. In that 4 hours I completed 11/14 achievements, the other 3 achievement needed I will complete over the next 3 days through the daily associated with Tower of Nightmares, so probably another 1 to 2 hours total over 3 days to complete that. I think that is fantastic that the living story achievement can be done in about ~ 6 hours of gaming, which shows that it is very casual friendly

You mentioned 7 things in addition to the achievements. Se7en!! Not to mention you forgot about the new craftable sigil and food and rune sets. And the home node. So 9 things. And it’s a free update. And we still have Halloween going on. Which we only got 2 weeks ago. And we haven’t even gotten into the Tower yet!

Are you seriously complaining about free stuff?

I have no complaints or issues about the amount of content with this update, I only wish I could bring myself to care.
