Lv.80 Scrapper (Alchemist Persenia)
Lv.80 Druid (Mender Zalintyre)
With all the bugs going around from the recent patch, mainly the major FPS drop I get. The game has become unplayable for me sadly. This hurts me. With that said I will be taking a break from the game until all is resolved.
So long Tyrians. Until next time.
There is nothing wrong with taking a break. I’m not sure where you live but for many it is the start of Spring. Perhaps take this time to get outside and hike and enjoy the weather after a long winter. There is a whole big massive world out there waiting for you. It is much more massive than Tyria with a lot of hidden secrets to find.

Most definitely, the weather is beginning to look nice and I have fitness goals I wish to achieve. I know ANET are working hard, and patience is key. I just hope that when I do return to my escapism known as Tyria, all its bugs will be remedied.
Hu?! Shoulda been here for BWE’s and release! Talk about bugs, hotfix’s, patches…Meh it happens. They go silent to do their best in working on the reported issues then BAM. Out comes the next release and everything is all good with Tyria again.
But to each their own.
Enjoy your break.
A break is a good idea. You will be less frustrated and it’s better to be happy with a game than angry with it.
I agree. It’s always good to take a break. Gaming too much is unhealthy.
Waiting out all the bugs is the sane thing to do. Just be sure to keep an eye on the notices in case limited content shows up.
Enjoy the outdoors!
Awww, just don’t take too long a break… They might have 7-11s in Silverwastes by the time you come back…

Huh? There weren’t remotely this many bugs in the BWEs or initial release. Optimization was an issue. Along with sit-jumping, apparently :P Possibly that cheap rare weapons for low karma glitch. But that wasn’t necessarily a bug.
These new bugs that have popped up are pretty terrible. Also, I have a very long list of ‘bugs’ that have accumulated over time (before this patch). So… Everything is not all fine again. I know development isn’t easy, but they really shouldn’t have released this patch at all in its current state. It’s just adding to my list of ‘things that will probably never be fixed’.

Just to be sure, since you mentionned the FPS drop that make the game unplayable. There is option to optimize the settings. The change in camera what a huge one, and this could help fix the problem.

that is 100% rose-colored glasses and selective memory at work.

Ok… examples? The trading post was offline so there wasn’t even that to deal with. A few skill points were bugged (especially underwater ones). A few tasks had glitches (the haunted house in the Charr forest with the human necromancer ghost DE — even that only fairly recently got fixed).
I don’t remember guild chat being super messed up. I don’t remember going offline causing the game to crash. I don’t remember gross green font being plastered everywhere, although that is minor. I don’t remember having these bright red lines going down half of my apparel pieces (the amount of armor pieces affected by this has grown over time). I don’t remember the game running at 10-20 frames per second on my machine when I used to get 50-70 on maximum settings. I don’t remember idle animations being glitched at launch (spoiler: they weren’t). I don’t remember hearing completely random voices from different races/sexes frequently yelling. I don’t remember stacks in my inventory not being able to stack on themselves (with exception to the year one/two birthday scrolls).

There were some bugs. I picked out this update from near the start of the game (mixture of bug fixes and some updates to change things that weren’t exactly bugs)
The October 2012 update
Fixed bugs for various stuck events and skill challenges.
Fixed bugs for various map areas that allowed players to get outside of the playable space.
Fixed a bug in dungeon speed-clearing code. Players should no longer experience reward reductions without triggering the speed-clearing debuff.
Fixed a bug that was automatically killing players as they entered Sharkmaw Caverns in Lion’s Arch.
Fixed an exploit in renown regions that allowed players to quickly complete them by interacting with objects while their inventory was full.
Fixed a bug that caused Charr characters to enter a state where any fall resulted in a long falling yell.
Fixed a bug that caused older characters to have their monthly achievement reset upon completion before the current month ended.
Fixed the conversion on all items that were changed from soulbound to account bound to actually be account bound now.
Fixed a bug that was preventing certain music from playing.
Fixed an issue with the loot table for undead grubs.
Fixed a camera bug which occasionally caused the camera to get too close to the player’s backside.
Updated the Barrel and Green Plant environmental weapons to disappear after lying on the ground for a set time. This will prevent map issues caused by hundreds of these bundles idling on the ground.
Updated Rune of the Adventurer and Sigil of Energy to each grant 25% endurance when activated.
Updated map completion rewards for Plains of Ashford and all World-versus-World maps to match the map level/content.
Added an appropriate error message for players when trying to accept too many guild invites.
Armor that is currently equipped can no longer be transmuted.
Master Weaponsmiths now sell their goods for coin instead of karma, as was originally intended.
Miss Mipp at Almuten Mansion now sells Curry Buns instead of directly selling outdated buffs.
Surfacing while downed underwater no longer grants invulnerability. This change was made to stop players from exploiting the surface of the water to maintain permanent invulnerability.
The Trading Post will properly refresh when using item context menus from your inventory.
Transmuted cultural armor now prevents opposing races from equipping it.
Valkyrie armor boxes will now properly contain a coat instead of two helms when crafted.
Ancient wood, Orichalcum Ore, and Mithril Ore nodes respawn rate is now tied directly to characters and set to respawn one day after your character gathered from it.

Just off the top of my head. For an incomplete list of release bugs that have since been fixed.
If you are going to be waiting for all the bugs to be fixed, we will see you in GW3. Have a nice break.
You know this is really hard, trying to take a break from GW2. Anet hasnt even gave me any information regarding the FPS lost many have been getting since the patch. Here is my Post about it.

Yea communication isn’t exactly their strong suit…
Another patch with fixes is coming out any minute now, gotta say they iron them out quickly.

It’s a shame all the bugs, and then to top it off they made such changes to stability that really ruined WvW for me, I can’t move an inch, even after using my own stability skill it’s gone in a sec. =/
So yeah, i’ll be taking a break aswell, sucks cause I play this game everyday for 6-12 hours XD But since WvW is all I do, the game got totally ruined for me.

- Ranger downed skill 3 did not work if the player was on a slope
- Several stuck skillpoint/map completion issues
- Personal Story bugs blocking progress
- Players could get their skill animations stuck and weapon swap for fun (I miss this one)
- Level 67 rares yielded exotics in the forge
- Personal mails were often capped at 6/10 due to game messages taking up slots
- WvW bonuses were not correctly displayed
- It was possible to transmute cultural armor of the wrong race to achieve public nudity
- Detha and Hodgkins VERY frequently refused to progress AC paths 1 and 2
- Getting the ranger’s Opening Strike to apply vulnerability was a bit like winning the lottery
- A long list of Necro trait bugs
- The icons for asuran basic weapons made them look like tribal weapons
- Asurans using Whirling Axe only showed damage sporadically
Just off the top of my head. For an incomplete list of release bugs that have since been fixed.
I didn’t say there were no bugs at release. My point is this one patch introduced a ton of them. It will probably take a very long time to sort all of them out (if they all get sorted out).
All the bugs gone? If guild wars had all the bugs fixed it won’t be guild wars anymore; just like your body is (apparently) 90% foreign like bacteria and stuff. You don’t wanna play only 10% of guild wars do u? xD
