If Resistance isn’t as spammable as conditions are and we still have limited condi cleanse to counter cancer builds… I think this trio will lead to the most cancer laden builds this game has ever seen.

I’m about to throw in the towel on hoping for all professions having suitable counters to the condition spam that pollutes PvP in this game. Damage over time / passive high dps gameplay are getting so tiresome, and news of this new condition along with slow (which piles on with chill) is somber news for the future of this game.

You’re assuming that any build has large amounts of access to all 3 (although I’d look out for that mesmer spec).

I currently am running a Mesmer build based on layering stacks of Confusion and Torment. When I am not doing my usual PvE spamming, it can take foes down in seconds.
I mentioned to someone today that it a taunt was added, a Mesmer could blink away and snack on popcorn as a taunted enemy would kill themselves.

I would not want to meet myself in a dark alley.

I imagine they have already considered this and will move conditions around for the mesmer, probably. They might also just plain not give the mesmer taunt because of this. Not every class can truly use all conditions. Warriors and guardians, for example, can’t even use poison without playing as an asura or using specific sigils. There is nothing that says a mesmer must have taunt. I’m sure ArenaNet’s intentions with taunt is more for drawing agro away from the squishies rather than towards.

Now, if you have a mesmer on your team and you work together while you taunt and the mesmer does the torment/confusion stacks, that’s just good team work.

I would also like to add that it is looking like mesmer spec will get shield with the specialization, and one of their skills looks like it has something to do with time because of the clock face animation. What I’m saying is that mesmer will likely get to use slow rather than taunt.

Give us more GW 1 weapon and armor skins, please. COPY/PASTE ALREADY!!!!

Learn to play together in competitive modes.
Simple as that.
It is quite easy to have a group that have good enough access to cleans in order to more or less completely shut down the condition builds.

It is also a bit to early to make claims about issues like these, since we have no idea which classes will have access to Taunt and such.

Maybe the Specialization for Mesmer will have access to Taunt, but by going into said Specialization you lose access to Confusion or Torment and thus the problem won’t really exist.
