So normally, when entering LA, you get put into a queue. Then at some point you get the options to travel to your home world. You can choose yes or no.

Is there any advantage to travel to the home world? Most of the time I remain in the overflow. Other then the quantity of people, I don’t’ see any other advantage.

Being on your home server is great for when people are announcing in map chat that they are putting together a group for specific event (say a Balthazar run) or if someone pops in from WvW saying they need peeps to take a certain objective.

Being on an overflow server is good for putting together dungeon groups since you can do those x-realm.

Pretty much all the stuff only your server can do. WvW and Events mainly, like Dragons.

More likely to find Guild Banners in home world as well.
