Q:
[Technical] GW2 engine tech?
That’s all I know of too hahaha.
hmm u pretty much got it covered, uh it uses dx9 ? :P
It is built off of the GW1 engine if that helps you at all?
Welp. In any case, I was hoping to get a baseline with components to map out how the GW2 rendering pipeline goes about, so that I can optimize my machine/game settings better for it.
Do explian, how are you or how can you
optimize your machine to better run gw2?
I may already know what your going to say i may not.
As in how will that information further help you opimize your rig?
Knowing how the rendering pipeline works means I can see where the bottleneck for performance might be, and how my settings can be pushed to safe limits. I can reduce CPU intensive settings if my GPU bottlenecks it – and vice versa. I’m using an aging machine, and optimizing to the closest I can get to good performance without killing my machine quicker is something I want to have a smooth play experience.
I heard a rumour thakittens using polygons to show stuff.
Really dont think you’re going to squeeze details out of Anet on the engine. If you want to optimize the speed of the game its a simple 3 step process:
1) Get an SSD.
2) Get a faster GPU.
3) Get a faster CPU.
I mean sure you can lower the graphics settings ingame but that’s the cowards way out.
Havok use in gw2 is so low its laughable. This game is as static as a game on N64.
The current bottleneck is raw clock ghz in dual core i7 since it doesnt use ht. You need quad core non ht.
Following that is to get an SSD.
Also get SLI. The card is very SLI compliant. Works better with NVIDIA. Also you need something that has high raw T-flops. Dx9 compliant. Check wiki for raw t-flop figures.
fast bus speed on ram is good as well. tripple channel.
