I figured I would start this topic so that players could post either vids or a description on what tells are used to determine when to dodge on certain mobs. Seeing as the red circles aren’t always given it might be nice to know when dodging is required. It is also noted that any time a creature gives a glowing effect it is about to do a major attack such as the Ogre’s glowing club that will knock you down if you don’t dodge. But some creatures only give a visual clue if your looking at them closely. Post here so as to help the community better understand when to dodge although particle effects can still block these tells it will still be valuable information.

I’ll start:

Karka, these critters squat down on all fours before raising their tail to shoot their projectiles. These projectiles HURT but can be avoided quite easily by dodging twice when you see them squat down (dodging back then forward will leave you in the same place as you were originally).

Here’s my not so useful contribution since most high levs can just eat the damage anyway:

Ettin – very obvious and slow overhead smash.
Bear types/Deer types – dodge if they rear up on their hind legs.
Boar types – if they stand still for a bit with a shimmery effect they’re about to charge in a straight line.
Bats – have a slow circular “dive bomb”
Skelks/Leopards – when they turn invisible just attack your immediate vicinity

Kholer – Little vortex above his arm, about a 1.5 second charge up, dodge when his arm is fully above his head. If you miss the dodge, use a stun breaker and dodge backward.

Centaur Lancers/Tramplers: Look for the shining aura which starts up and dodge about 2 seconds before it’s about to land to avoid being launched. Be sure to dodge in the direction they were moving FROM to be absolutely sure it misses.

Raptors and Moas: Look for the shining aura, and dodge to the left or right. Dodging backwards will still get you nailed.

Risen Putrefier*: When you see the anchor/pickaxe thrown at you, dodge immediately left or right to avoid being pulled.

Edit: Wrong Risen, they kind of blended together. Adding another one.

Risen Noble: When they vanish to shadow-step, immediately dodge away. You will not get stuck for long in the well it creates.

In the Dwayna temple event, the statue will raise its hand, and emit a lot of fire-like bolts. You can actually dodge once the projectiles leave the hand, whereas dodging on the hand raise may be too soon. It helps tremendously to have your PoV tilted back to be able to see the raised hand. If your PoV is focused down or even horizontally (depending on how close you are), you won’t see the bolts until too late. If you are reviving, it is best to do so while looking above the statue as it likes to target revivers with those bolts.

Risen Preservers: When you see the anchor/pickaxe thrown at you, dodge immediately left or right to avoid being pulled.

That was the Putrifier, not the Preserver. Preserver’s two moves are the AoE heal/damage red circle and a jump-in-the-air-PBAoE-knock. In the “new Risen,” the Putrifier still throws its anchor, but instead of pulling you, it does nothing but a tiny bit of damage, and the attempt seems to self-root the mob. That will hopefully be fixed.
