I need the Lyssa boss for my trait, but I never know when it spawns. How can I know when to get my trait?

Currently, it’s almost impossible due to megaservers.
Actually, you can get the new trait only if you actually kill the Lyssa priest that does NOT appear during the defense event.
Consequently, you have to fail the defense event to encounter Lyssa during attack event.
However, with megaservers, there are always some people on the map and the defense event is ridiculously easy to achieve, so there is almost never the attack event and you can’t get the new trait …
Your only chance is to get there in offpeak hours, when there’s hardly anybody online and try to reason and explain people there to fail the event.

Not true. I have done the Lyssa event 3 out of 3 tried, and different times during the day. The key is communications on Map channel…explaining that unlike Grenth, you need to allow Risen to overrun the temple, so that High Priestess of Lyssa can appear, and be defeated for the Grand master trait, and people in general will listen.

I have found that it really depends on simply being courteous when you explain the need, and not go al.." OMFG LEAVE THE RISEN THE EFF ALONE…. !!!! F*** YOU kitten FOR KILLING RISE1111111!!!!"

As I said, was there on 3 level 80’s, we explained on map politely, and Lyssa showed up.. 3 out of 3 times.

As Nerelith stated. (well besides trolls) its mostly because… suddenly a lot of players that didn’t bother with temples before are suddenly there trying to get the traits….

Since they don’t know how it works.- They will just stick around and attack whatever- hoping that she spawns soon…… and she wont, as they are counter-productively defending it..
- Sometimes players are their own worst enemy.

Does anyone know how ferquently the defense events roll around? I’ve been frequently checking Grenth’s, but I’ve never encountered an active event so far (well, not an attack/defend event anyway).

Best thing to do is when the defense event spawns, everyone who wants the trait quickly get there, and stand there doing nothing. The event scales up, and you have ample time to explain things to those who are fighting the risen.

Revive the fallen, simply as a show of good will. People tend to think you are a troll just afk-ing there spewing nonsense about letting an event fail…

The true fix to this would be to not have the way points ALWAYS be contested. If the temple is open I know the Lyssa event won’t be available. If they are contested I know there’s a chance of the event I need being there. I have yet zone in, since the patch, when the event is active or the temple has been contested. The temple is always uncontested when I arrive.

ArenaNet could just make the event happen more frequently. Currently the time in-between the events is long. Defense campers are not problem there are just not enough that do that.

I do think that they need to put in an automatic fail system, where after 3 successful defenses, a non-event reset occurs in which the pact is forced back and the chain restarts.

Yeah, I’ve given up doing these, 6 level 80s sitting with locked end traits.. It sounds like a major pain to get the temples done now… I did look to see if they were on the world timer and no… Either putting them on, or what mtpelion said about an auto fail event after the 2nd try would help this problem.

An auto fail feature might be the best way. Defenders can farm for a while and the people who want to do the temple event will get their chance.

I was doing temples regularly before Megaservers. I think I’ve done them once since then.
