All I really want for Christmas.
I could hope Dervish or a class similar to Dervish that wields a Scythe would be available some years in the future. We did have a similar Dervish like outfit one time that was fun. And curious whats in the Tengu city. Soooo hopefully we get to see some progress into that sometime in the future.

Well dervish won’t ever be back because the gods left and it’s a human thing, but “similar class” would be a daredevil or revenant using the scythe staff skin. The actual weapon is totally irrelevant the way skills work. It could be a pool noodle and it would function the same way.

Ever since gw2 was announced I’ve wanted Tengu. As for Dervish it was my main in gw1 so that would definitely bring me back to playing the game other than just logging in to chat. Some could say that there are already dervish variants in the game. Those people would be kidding themselves. The only class that has a dervish like feel would be reaper deathshroud.
Derivsh has a wide range of enchantments that could be added to the game with effects that have not been seen in gw2. All the dervish utilities could be enchantments that act like shouts, buffs, wells, aoe, and unique dmg buffs. Some could be permanent until the effect triggers such as regain health after 50% dmg or some could be flash enchantments that gives buffs like aegis. Let some of the enchantments be able to spread to allies in an aoe fashion or can be targeted to allies. Or keep the permanent enchantments as f1 abilities. Can add a few signets utilities that buff the enchantments as well.

Could do something completely different with Dervish as well. Have them only be able to use scythe with their 1-5 skills changing depending on the avatar form you choose for your elite. Similar to rev and their utilities. A scythe can easily be giving staff animation for range (necromancer) if needed.

Would Naginatas float your dervish boat? Polearms are awesome and under-represented in fantasy games and Tengu are based on Japanese culture, so a Naginata would actually be a good match for them, and it makes more sense than a Dervish.

Please Anet!! The dervish was one of the best concepts ever!!!
My hope now is that they will add the dervish as an elite spec with the upcoming expansion…that seems to be pointing us to the crystal desert/ kourna. The Dervish coming back would make so much sense!!!

About Tengu, I hope they will be added into the next expansion as well, just because I think a new race adds more weight to the expansion and I’m tired of waiting…
