It’s just sad to see how poor servers are.
- you get in map 25min earlier
- you do your stuff collect material
- you do teq like you should and help and all
- your internet works perfectly fine because TS didn’t even twitch for a second

Than you randomly disconnect…
And lets not forget that you get NO REWARD at all
I wouldn’t B***H about it if that would happen 1×.. now this is 5th time happening in this month… and it’s frustrating.. FIX YOUR S*** anet.. PLEASE

I know your pain. It happens to me, on average, at least 3-5 times a month. Either I will randomly get disconnected from the game (and the game alone, still stay connected to ts and everything) or I will get some random crash where an in-game error message pops up saying the game has crashed, forces me to send an error report and restart…which means I can never get back into my instance, so I get no reward.

It is frustrating. I’ve been sending error reports on the same type of crash during the same event for months now with no fix, and I know it is not just me that it is happening to, because I get thrown into dead zones when I am back with other people complaining about the exact same thing happening to them just then. It’s clearly not just on my end.

For now, I just shrug it off and go about my dailies. What else can you do?

Lets just say it that way, people are getting kicked out by other people, DDoS is common in MOBAs and it’s more noticeable, in MMO ppl think there is simple network or server problem.. but hell no.. even here we have it and Anet should secure things better..

Interesting. You say you’re on TS (which stays up) but your connection to ANet’s servers goes down. If it were a problem with ANet’s servers, wouldn’t you hear a general outcry on Teamspeak? A DDoS attack is similarly unlikely for the same reasons, you’d hear a lot of people saying that they were losing connection all roughly around the same time.

That isn’t to say that there aren’t server instabilities. I noticed after last Tuesday’s patch that I and several of my guildies had been disconnected all at the same time, and then we ended up rolled back to a map we had zoned out of, and 1 step in our story instance had to be redone.

There’s a command in game that allows you to see the server’s IP address: /ip
Once you obtain that information, you could attempt a tracert or traceroute to that IP to see if maybe the problem is along the way to ANet’s servers.

I agree with Digital. If there is not a problem with your ISP, then it might be an issue between your ISP and ANet’s. If it were a general problem like DDoS or just at ANet’s end, others would experience this issue as well. I’ve seen a wee bot of lag now and again, and some frame rate issues in odd places like Lornar’s Pass, I think I’ve been DC’d once in 2.25 years.

This has been an issue since release basically. Sometimes you seem to get the reward, but I think it only works if the event concludes before you time out on the server.
I hope it will addressed sometime in the near future, but I guess we would have to wait for a feature pack – changing the current system might be difficult.

You said you were on TS. Did anyone else on TS say they were also disconnected? If this were actually some DDOS conspiracy, surely there would have been some commotion from fellow players about how they also were kicked.

As much as it sucks, it’s either your ISP or a problem between your ISP and Anet’s servers. In this case, it’s not an issue of another source causing it.

Arenanet isn’t usally the target, its the ISP that arenanet uses for their servers. So no, it’s not ArenaNet’s responsibility most of the time. THey even have contracts that guarentee uptime or large fees with the service providers.
