I had Killed Tequatl and only recieved the Exotic quality Dragon chest, and the big chest where he had died. Is anyone else getting this issue? im getting cheated of chests. and possible Ascended items. is this a bug? or am i missing something?

1) You’re not being cheated out of anything. The Blue, Green, and Yellow chests do not have Ascended gear. Only Blues, Greens, and the occasional Rare. Ascended boxes come from the Exotic and Boss chest

2) Are you participating in the Battery Defense phase? You gotta actively kill mobs targeting the Megalaser or Batteries.

- I was participating since the beggining of the Event, i was actively protecting the megalaser, and the occasional back up to northern battery. we Recked Teq. just dont understand why i only recieved 2 chests

and also got cheated of 10k karma, vital to my legendary grind, of wich is recieved from the additional 3 chests i should have recieved

Your chests come from the mega laser phase as smooth penguin mentioned.

It’s not enough to just be there, unfortunately, you have to kill enough mobs to at least be credited with a bronze medal at one of the sites. Ensure you are tagging as many mobs as possible during the event. Having done Teq a lot, I understand that’s not always easy when you’re at north or East as you’re focusing on other things other than killing risen like stomping grub holes.

I did the Entire event Phase for Phase, as a warrior, i tagged everything.

The tagged mobs need to also die to get credit. A lot of Vets, Elites, and Champs spawn. If you’re tagging the Elites and Champs, and they don’t die before the phase ends, no credit is given.

I’ve done some observations of what chests I get versus what I’ve actually done in the Tequatl event. I seem to be having the opposite problem from you. I’ll get the blue, green, and yellow chest but I won’t get the exotic chest or Tequatl’s. When this happens to me, I’ve noticed that it is always when I “accidentally” become part of a defend phase that I don’t mean to. As an example, I’m running to defend the North battery and I lay down a field effect that gives me swiftness but ALSO damages enemies…..BOOM!!! I’ve just made sure that I won’t get Tequatl’s chest. Because, although I may get a gold medal from defending the North battery, I’ll get a bronze medal from inadvertently defending the Megalaser as I ran past it. This seems to translate into me getting cheated out of rewards for the event, if I “accidentally” help out another group. Which seems completely imbecilic.

I noticed, that often if I got “bronze” on the defence phases, I’d get one chest less.

I always got chests at silver/gold reward level, but bronze was always hit or miss.

Did you get bronze level reward?

I am also having huge problems and getting ganked out of the 4th chest. I do all 3 battery phases and get gold, gold and silver if not 3 golds. I also get in the zerg for burn phase-Yet 8 times out of 10 I only get 3 chests. I WAS doing on my Mesmer-took my condition ranger and same thing-tired of getting ripped off at Teq. Seems to be that only warriors should do teq-most unfair to med and light armor wearers.

You know, if you do the event more than once a day, you don’t have the full reward… You sure you haven’t already done it on the same day? (or to be more precise, after the reset timer, since the hour of the reset is different based on where you live, obviously).

I have done it tons of times, each time with at least bronze reward on the defense phases, and i always had every reward.

You sure about that, Penguin? The reason I ask is that a few times I’ve stayed behind on the beach to kill fingers, and even though I didn’t get any credit for the battery defense phases (No pop-up on the right with a medal), I still got all 4 chests.

I always thought the 4 chests came from the 4 damage phases for Tequatl himself, maybe the player isn’t doing enough damage (to Teq) in a couple of the phases to rate that particular phases chest?

Ok this seems to be a bug, but i could be wrong. I got gold all phases and only got 3 chests, two different times. Sometimes I can get bronze and silvers and get all 4 chests. Is there an explanation for this? Maybe dev could chime in and explain it if it is not a bug so we aren’t frustrated and feeling ripped off?

(I know this is an old topic, but I figured why start new one? I searched and if this was answered by someone please point me in the right direction. )

Clearing the beach of fingers counts as completing a battery phase for credit for the reward chests, otherwise no one would clear the beach and the event would be jeopardized. But someone who just idles during a battery phase and doesn’t contribute anything at all will be missing out on the extra chests.

For example, iIf the event fails and Tequatl was between 25 and 50% heath at the end, you get the blue and the green chest as reward.

Just recently I taxi’d a guild member into a running Tequatl event, and he was able to join the map in the last combat phase where Tequatl is below 25% health. He only hit Tequatl and nothing else, and only for a few strikes before all was over. He got all 4 chests and the big chest on the map.

But I also heard people complain they only got 2 chests where I got all 4 in the same event. I don’t see a logical explanation.

Incorrect and massive necropost. The blue chest you get for sufficient contribution of the FIRST battery phase @75%, the masterwork you get for the SECOND battery phase at 50%, the rare at 25%, and the exotic for a successful kill (ONCE a day). The large ground chest is 1/character/day upon successful kill.

Most likely you didn’t get credit on one of the mega lesser events because you didn’t kill enough mob.

It happens to me once before too.

It’s sorta like the vanishing champ loot bags during the great jungle worm event which has been bugged since launch. Hope it gets fixed soon, but somehow I doubt it will.

Could be a weird manifestation of diminishing returns. Instead of decreasing loot, it increases the amount of “credit” you need to earn for the reward chest (while not touching event credit).

I used to get this a lot when I sometimes switched between multiple batteries in one phase. I think when you go to a new one, it will overrule your current battery event medal.
After I’ve sticked to 1 specific battery in each phase i’ve had no problems at all.

Teq’s been kinda weird lately. I did Teq once on my guardian the other evening, zonked out, got up and then did Teq again (in the same daily reset interval) on my Mesmer. We won both times, though when I won on my Mesmer I only got the orange and yellow chests along with the big chest on the map.

I didn’t really worry about it, but seeing this post reminds me of that oddity. Figured I’d chime in just in case this is a bug and not some sort of invisible intended-effect-for-killing-Teq-too-many-times-in-one-daily-reset-interval account thing.

Seeing as you can spend the whole fight at one of the batteries, without coming near Teq even once, and still get all chests, this is definitely not the case.

Yeah, weird, as i said (though see below).

My current assuption, based on what i have seen so far, is:
1. To receive all 3 chests (blue, green, yellow), you need to participate only in the last defence phase. You can skip two first ones completely. In fact, you can log in during the third defence phase and still get all chests.
2. to not receive yellow, you must either not participate in third defense, or not tag enough mobs that ended up dead during that phase.
3. to not receive early chests, but receive later ones, you must participate in defence phases, but without qualifying for higher defence rewards (so either no medal at all, or at best bronze. Sometimes bronze does qualify you for chest however, so i’m not so sure here). If you just skip the defence phase completely, but do the next one, see point 1.
4. there seem to be some activities that count as participating in battery defense as far as receiving chests is concerned. Manning turrets, for example, seem to count. So does doing enough damage on Teq (seems rare, though, so i guess tag threshold is rather high)

And of course “qualifying” seems to work separately for each battery, so even if you killed several mobs during the phase, but all over every battery and laser spot, you may still get nothing.

Odd. Just last night I was idling before Teq and watching TV, and I forgot to check back into the game until about 13 minutes after the hour. I missed all but the last battery phase, and even so, I got all 4 chests. I’ve had it happen before when I missed the first battery phase as well.

EDIT: Just saw the post above. Confirms what I have experienced.

Yeah chest credit can be odd for TEQ – also just to be clear – whoever said that you didn’t miss anything… I have gotten exotics plenty of times from the blue and green chests not just the yellow and exotic chests.

You don’t need to attend any battery defense phase. I saw guild members who joined the event literally seconds before Tequatl was defeated. They were only able to deal a few hits, and only on Tequatl. They got all 4 chests.

On the other hand, I also saw other guild members who only got 2 chests and were present during the complete event right from the beginning and who always joined a defense event. But in the same session (we were in the same party), I got all 4 chests.

Just to throw more info here, already happened to me to stay at the beach for 2 battery events to clear the bloated creeps and I didn’t got the events for defense, even if joined the map 30 min before Teq started and actively participated and, in the end, got only the blue and the exotic chests.
