Tequatl weapon from ascended in mystic forge
I’m not sure if making them drop from the Forge is a good idea, but I WOULD support a token system where you can eventually earn a Sunless weapon if you successfully killed Tequatl hundreds of times. (For the record, I was lucky enough to get a Sunless weapon drop just last week, but I understand I was extremely lucky.)
No. Sunless runes already have a purpose with the risen minis. If you want a Sunless weapon, keep beating teq. This is no different than asking for a cheap way to get the Wurmslayer armor, or a cheap way of getting Fractal skins. These skins are locked behind content gates for a reason.
I don’t think it’s cheap when it’s on that level of luck. using the current luck, a person can “earn” a sunless weapon having only done it once, whilst someone else “doesn’t earn” it even though they may have done it hundreds of times.
a rabid ascended weapon and a sunless rune seems a little* cheap for a sunless weapon (excuse me for not being knowledgable, but isn’t the sunless rune one of those trash runes?)
maybe all three of the viridian weapons (the green ones) and something else of decently high value (the 50sp scroll maybe?)
that would give it a value around/above 200g, which is pretty good for a “special” exotic

Aidan your opinion just doesn’t make sense, as ITheNormalPerson points out. RNG is completely out of whack in this game. There is nothing earned here. You certainly CAN get something uber awesome on your first kill. Did that person earn it over someone who has done it 500 times? Don’t think so.
I like a token system or the idea the OP put forth. You do need to make sure that the special items aren’t devalued, but at the same time then, maybe once you have ONE, you should be precluded from getting another. I just think that the level of frustration and anger that stems from the current system should be avoided in some way.
I honestly think a token system for the ascended skin drops from Teq and Wurm (and any future similar content) would be best. That way the people who (successfully) do those events the most often will have a real chance to get them.
A token system would be wonderful. We already have one for dungeons and fractals; I’d love to see it for Teq and Wurm.
Take the Teq weapons and Wurm armor out of the drop table completely. Let us earn tokens for beating the boss. Add a vendor that appears after the boss is beaten.
Add Teq armor and Wurm weapons while you’re at it, and I’ll love you forever

I already have no intention to get any Ascended,Teq,etc drops I just wish to get 1,only 1 exotic every day for running the whole world boss train and Ac/Cm/CoF dungeons…I’ve done this now 3 days the whole runs and I can count on a hand how much exotics I got :-) with 115% Magic Find and Food+Boost almost every time.
So I don’t have such a high wishes anymore but I wish you luck with it.

Well, MF wouldn’t affect the Daily Reward chest from the world bosses, or the big reward chests from those bosses or from dungeon bosses. But obviously it can affect your odds of getting a drop from a mob.

And the PLAYERS complain about the game being grindy.
Completely agree with the OP.
Teq & Wurm needs to definitely have a token system, both events require at least 45 mins of setting up and take way too much time which is in addition to the actual fight.
100 tokens (1 token per kill) should equal 1 hoard chest.
To make things worse, I know many players who have done a kill every day since these bosses were introduced and still don’t have a single hoard drop from either of the events.

+1 for token idea. At least teq has a lot of delicious karma as a consolation prize.
