Tequatls Weapon Chest...
I suggested a token system was Teq was first released. It got some good feedback and responses but nothing was ever done about it.
All the revamped world bosses would be better with a token system.
The biggest downside to a world boss token system would be that it’s one more currency. A lot of people don’t want more currencies, in fact a lot of people are calling for further reductions of currency types (goodbye glory, we knew you well).
Personally, I wouldn’t mind, I think.
I mean, on one hand, it does detract from the excitement of getting that really good drop. On the other hand, it gives you a solid goal to work towards with a clearly defined ‘end.’
But then you get into the whole, would this make people feel like its just ‘one more thing’ on their daily to do list? Shouldn’t they be doing the event because they desire to, not because it’s a chore? Would it make some of the items too common with such an easy, clearly defined mean of acquisition, thus detracting from their rarity and desirability?
Lot of pros and cons to such an implementation, many more than I’ll go into.
I think it’s still some achievement to kill Teq often enough to deserve a rare item. It’s not that you wouldn’t have done anything for it. Maybe for some people it is: Coming before he spawns, if they’re lucky enough to be able to join the server, kill him and go away again. For others like me, it is: being on the map a GOOD bunch of time BEFORE he spawns, trying to gather the people and encourage them to join the teams, getting my own team up and running, bringing the people to TS for some advice and for emergency calls whatever… this is not just 15 minutes of ‘fun’ – although killing Teq IS fun, otherwise I wouldn’t do it at all.
However, it seems that you rather suffer doing this day by day, and are rewarded if you just… ‘step in’ to loot and run away again, which is sad… So I decided to stop killing him daily. I don’t see a reason anymore. Trying it once or twice a week must do, I think. I WOULD like to kill him daily, I really do, and I think I’d go on doing that as soon as I got that stupid chest (if I will EVER get one)
I mean… I’ve played since the beta… I haven’t seen a precursor from far, I haven’t EVER dropped anything ascended other than the usual material stuff or the Grenth/Dwayna receipes from boxes. (I’ve bought over 10.000 of them, just to mention that)
So my faith in ever getting the chest is low nonetheless.
Teq is a boss that like the Worm needs a lot of people. So if one half is fed up with hoping for nothing and doesn’t join the fight anymore, 10 percent got their stuff and are simply done, and the others left kill him for fun it’ll get hard to get the people you need together some day.
A token system would bring benefit to both sides. Those who are just unlucky in dropping, but see a chance to succeed anyway, even if they have to come back over and over again, but with a certain goal, those who kill him for fun, as there are always people who are collecting tokens, and well… those who are done for good doesn’t count anyway.
I, for myself would go on killing him as I love the event once I got what I wanted. I even have to stop myself from going there every day because I hope to finally get the stupid scepter if I only go twice a week. Although I really feel sorry for the others who are STILL organizing the kill 4-5 or more times DAILY! And this is really hard enough to REALLY deserve a reward.
I mean face it, you’re standing there for at least one hour BEGGING for people to join and fill the defence and canon teams for the event not to fail because most of them just want to grap the stupid loot and have an easy job.
its called RNG and you are just having bad luck, keep trying.
i killed tequatl more than 450 times and i got 3 tequatl hoards. basicall i could cry aswell because for me those 3 chests are accountbound and kittening useless since they have rabid stats and i dont play necromancer. i just want the mini tequatl. but yeah, thats what random numbers are about, i can still be happy that i got some nice decoration for my bank, while others, like you, had even less luck.
just keep trying or pray that they invent a token system for tequatl / wurm.
I am playing a necromancer as my main, and I do not want these stats either. xD

It’s just the skin… sighs Gosh how often are you killing Teq a day? 3 times? O.O
i used to kill teq 2-4 times from october – december. i slowed down by now, only 1-2 kills per day + 1 wurm kill per day but wurm loot is kitten, from 10 wurm kills i had 1 rare item + green loot, i can not recommend doing wurm for money, they should either boost his loot or make a token system. tequatl loot on the other hand is REALLY good, you always get rares. but yeah, if you try to get ascended chest or mini teq you need random numbers in your favor
As for the mini, it is tradeable, so I think it isn’t too bad. Off course it’s more fun to actually drop it, but people who really really need one could easily effort it on TP.
Everything else isn’t. And if it comes to the wurm… well I couldn’t care less.
It doesn’t even drop anything worth standing around for a few hours on the map to make sure to get the kill… x_X"
I mean it might be a great challenge, but to what costs? I’m tired of overflowing at the monent anyway. Teq is quite allright. Trying to get things sorted and organized is a good timekiller. Even begging people to help is… xD
I’d like an official statement anyway. Does one get punished for killing him every day or not? Bacause if not… well Teq… you better hide ‘coz I’m coming…. ó_ò°
