Birthday gifts. Each time one of your characters is another year older, it gets a birthday gift from Anet. This is the five year anniversary of the launch of the game. Those of us who were there for the first day of headstart (due to preordering) started getting our five year birthday gifts.

When your character is a year old you’ll get your first year birthday gift. In fact each character on your account will get one.

Sounds pretty cool selection. One might even say…

It’s nice but I was hoping you’d include the Jormag Dye Kit in the choice of dyes, I was so much happy to get the Permafrost Dye

For those looking through the dye choices, this wiki site has the names of the dyes in each dye kit and the current prices, if that’s a consideration.

So frustrating! I still have another 2.5 hours before I get home and get my birthday gift/s. (Some years I get 2-3 together, some years they’re as much as 2 days apart, not sure why.)

I’m really excited to check out the new weapons especially, but the other stuff is nice too.

Mine arrived around 1am EDT, which was earlier than I had anticipated. It would seem that the gift timing is down to the hour rather than the day.

I haven’t chosen weapons or a backpack, nor have I used the wardrobe unlock… I’m going to obsess about the choices and the RNG all afternoon.

Thank you ANet for the great gifts. I enjoy the variety and the chance to unlock some cool skins and dyes I would never be able to afford otherwise.

Aren’t they usually account bound on acquire, thus cannot be sold?

Some players use the ‘worth’ of the Dyes to make their choice. Getting an expensive Dye free means they save more Gold/cash (if they were planning on acquiring those Dyes, anyway).

That happened with my gw chars too. Their birthdays are a couple days off now.

Leap Day is why. We were a day “early” last year, too. In 2020 the earliest account birthdays will be Aug 23, since it seems to be decided by number of hours per year rather than by calendar day.

I’m also very pleased (and very torn) by the choices. At least having had a year to subconsciously consider it I was able to select my second backpack pretty fast. The weapons, though, I want all three blades ><

And note: we get a title with the achieve: “Relentless.” That’s on several of my alts now because it suits them.

I think this is how it works..

If this is your 5th birthday gift, check your age in the game, you’ll have to be at least 1825 (5 years) days with the game. I have not gotten mine too but I have 7 more days to go before I get my 5th anniversary gifts

Must admit, always get excited when I get my birthday mails.

I banked the dye, need to sit down and see what all the choices are and what I have. I picked a sword and knife skin for the two weapons, but it was a difficult choice, they’re all pretty nice. I picked the backpack with the hat on it, thought that was fun.

I want to toss my hearty thank you to ArenaNet for the Fifth Anniversary birthday gifts. The Luminous weapons skins were just incredible. But I am wondering what ArenaNet is going to do about the Experience Scroll for the Ninth Anniversary.

Are you all sure that’s it? August 25, 2012 was a Saturday. The game servers were up several hours before midnight (Pacific Daylight Time) on Friday, August 24. The only character on my account who got a present today was the first one created, and that was on 2012/08/24, at least as ANet reckons time in Seattle.

This was definitely a nice gift this year! I went with the greatsword (Gaurdian) and sword (Holosmith) skins.
