Thank You Guild Wars Team - My Personal Opinion

My first MMO was Everquest. I loved adventuring around in that game. Another MMO that came out was Horizons: Empire of Istaria, and I loved that game as well. The atmosphere of adventure and the freedom to roam the world at one’s own risk, was a great experience.
Horizons had some great dynamic event ideas and possibilities. I remember when they merged the servers, and the Horizons team put on an event where the malicious forces of the blight took over the main city (I forget what its name was). That was fun.
I stopped playing MMO’s for a few years, and wondered if there would ever be another game in which I could have another adventure. I do not play many video games anyway, as I am no longer as obsessed with video games as when I was a teenager or even during my early twenties.
So when Diablo III really let me down on the atmosphere of adventure, I was wondering what might be next. I just bought Guild Wars 2 one day, after a friend mentioned it to me. Thought I would try it since there was no monthly fee.
Now, every time I log on, I have a great time. Some people call it a “carebear” game, or something to that extent, but I like the system. I also hope that those people can find a game they like, and that companies do make harder and more challenging games. We need a mix of both. I am tired of companies trying to make one product to appease the masses. There needs to be a selection.
I am going to a technical school now, and between that and family and trying to work a little on the side, I do not have as much time as I used to for playing on-line. This game allows me to just log in whenever, and have a good time no matter what my time constraints are.
I am writing this because I keep logging in to find new Halloween events, no matter the time of day I log in, and it is great. It has brought back fond memories of old adventures and the hopes I had for future gaming; and with these dynamic events, it is apparent that your team is working to create new ideas and content.
I remember someone telling me that “if you do a good job, no one will tell you about it. But, if you do a bad job, you will hear about it for sure.” So, I thought I would just give a shout out to the Guild Wars 2 team for doing a great job, in my opinion.
That is all I have to say. Please don’t leave negative comments if you don’t agree with me, just let my post fade off. I just felt the need to post this though.
