Firstly let me say it’s 4:40am so I’m a little tired but felt compelled to say something positive for a change.

I’ve been an Elementalist main since BWE 1 but stopped playing actively about a month ago. I was negative, angry and bitterly disappointed by the state of end game and the lack of “fun” after leveling two characters to 80 and 3 others to around lv30.

Tonight I logged in to check out the new content. I’m not happy about the recent “balance” fixes to classes, especially to my Ele and didn’t get to experience the opening event and to be honest felt extremely underwhelmed by what was going on in LA, thank god I got in touch with an ex-guild mate and formed a group to try out the new fractal dungeon idea.

Things weren’t perfect, that new npc we’re going to love to hate wouldn’t shut up and we had a few disconnects that meant restarting or 3 manning a boss fight or two but that’s how these things go.

However (isn’t there always one) I must be totally honest and say that I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 different instances we ran, the best thing of all, it was fun and a new concept that I think is going to be a success.

So thank you very much (first time I’m saying that in a long time) ArenaNet, I sincerely hope that being able to develop micro-dungeons like this will free you to be innovative without having to flesh out some silly backstory for every bit of content.

I’m looking forward to playing again even though my Ele is still a little underwhelming!

YOU KNOW THERE AIN’T NO REST FOR THE WICKED, TILL WE CLOSE OUR EYES FOR GOOD.

Thank you, a step in the right direction!

Well, that dungeon play-style is kind of what GW1 story missions were like.
So I’m surprised this is the first time we’re seeing that sort of thing in GW2, since it’s been in GW1 since… ever

I didn’t get too far though (had to cook dinner), I want to try more and see how much coordination/skill it actually takes, because I was a bit concerned with the inflated/boring boss HP.
