Hello there

As a level 80, going to Orr I was excited and jubilant. And then I realized what everyone else is saying. Orr is awful. I must say I hate every second I spend there. So I happened to come across a little place called Frostgorge Sound. And… It’s beautiful.

Every little detail is amazing. The art is magnificent. The city is gorgeous. So thank you ArenaNet. For my new home.

Agreed, frostgorge is my favorite zone by far.

That being said, I’m glad they gave us Orr first. It gets what, in my opinion, was bound to the worst one just due to the concept of undead swarms.

Now we can get ready to move on the potentially beautiful yet sinister remaining corruptions. We’ve seen hints of it in the dragonbrand and the various corrupted areas in frostgorge. Both keep the sinister corrupted feel and yet are undeniably beautiful at the same time.

The terrain in Frostgorge Sound is one big pain in the butt. I will hit Frostgorge Sound, when I get tired of the Rise constantly beating on me. It is a nice change of pace once in awhile. Well because other players are starting to use Cursed Shore has another Lions Arch, where they sit around hours on end and do nothing.

I actually like Orr… Well, just Cursed Shore, though…. The events there are really great for farming, and for people who enjoy grinding, they’re really fun!

I do agree that Frostgorge Sound is BEAUTIFUL though!

Orr(mainly Straits of Devastation) was actually pretty fun before all the zerging began, minus the bugs, ofc. first time i got there(about a week or 2 after release), i wished the whole game was like it. no renown hearts, just constant DE’s happening everywhere.

I do enjoy the lack of renown hearts in Orr, and the excess of DE’s, but I must agree with the OP that it is pretty annoying. There is nothing I hate worse than getting pulled, immobilized, stunned, knocked down, dazed, etc. Frostgorge, on the other hand, has something (which is massively important I think) that Orr lacks: diversity. And come on! It even has a dragon!

P.S. Not counting Zhaitan, he’s in a dungeon :P.

I think I’m the odd one out in that I prefer Orr to Frostgorge Sound.
Orr is exciting and dangerous and it keeps me on my toes, I don’t really mind the risen since I can get away from them mostly. I love the fact that there are no hearts, just masses of events. It creates a great feeling of urgency that is lacking on other maps.

Frostgorge is beautiful though and I love the Kodan- I just prefer some of the other Snowy maps like Dregdehaunt Cliffs e.g

I really, really like SoD and Malchor’s Leap, not so much CS but that has to do with the players not the area.
It seems to me that the moment players hit CS they instantly turn into min/max farmers. The other night I asked for help on map chat to complete an event, just to be told that event is not profitable. I had to do it since there was a skill point and I spent ages sneaking past the risen king just to get it but I did it alone.
