Thank you for bringing back Tribal Armor
Cool. Even on Charr.
Gratz.
How and where did u get it guys?

You can get the pieces from WvW reward tracks afaik. Currently working on one now. Glad to see this old much-desired set back/available at last.
Yeah, it’s nice. But if my female Sylvari’s leg could stop clipping through the legging piece, that would be great. (That and every other skirt-ish legging piece in the game, basically)……….. -sad sigh-
Yes, thank you very much Arenanet.

The Legacy Armor track is in both PvP AND WvW. So don’t feel you have to just zerg in the borderlands to get them.

I am very unhappy with bringing it back. Ruined the efforts of veteran players like me, because it is much easier to get now and also no longer a symbol of being a veteran pvp player.
Indeed. Thank you ANet. I haven’t started on it yet but after reading all of the posts and seeing the pictures, it’s definitely something I’m going to get.

And yet players had all or parts of this armor, previously, without ever setting foot in PvP. Gotta love the old Achievement Chests.

Exactly, it was never a symbol of being a veteran PvP player. It was, at best, a symbol of being around in the old days.
I’m actually in favor of “loyalty rewards” that include unique skins, but they should (imo) be limited to things like legacy skins (e.g. the HoM rewards) or fluff (e.g. the ANet baseball cap) & offered sparingly. I’m also in favor of skill-based and perseverance rewards (such as glorious armor) and those, too should offered rarely.
Tribal Armor was none of the above; anyone could get it if they played before the existence of the wardrobe.

What efforts did it ruin exactly? You still have the armor, it’s not like anyone took it from you. If you want a status symbol for being a PvP veteran, rank finishers and seasonal rank icons are a much better indicator than an armor set that some people got without ever even playing PvP.

And as a veteran player I disagree with you.
Let status be determined by skill and not “I was here first”

But the greatest issue about this armor, and a lot of other sets, is that it didn’t have nothing that could rapresent a ‘’veteran player’’ reward. In fact, cultural armors did a better job about that, IMHO.
The only thing that can now make the tribal armor a bit more special is that now people have the opportunity to have barefoot characters without farming invisible shoes (or at least the ones that can wear a light armor).

Hey guess what? I’ve got great news for you! You get to keep all that stuff that you earned! No one is taking anything away from you. At. All.

I am pretty sure the achievement point chests gave skins from paid tournament reward chests and not from specific rank x chests. So Tribal armor was not amongst what you could get from achievement point chests. Same with skins like Infinite Light which came from r70 chests (or at the end you could trade glory for cultural armor to salvage for r70 tokens and try your luck with a pvp mystic forge recipe)

Yes, the prestige was taken away. The only reason to use these armors because they look ugly.
Having something noone can get anymore is a great value.

I’m glad more people can get it now, we have been asking for it for ages!
and I hate that “now I can’t feel special anymore because more people have it” link of thinking.

They’re just pixels in a video game, how is it great value? -shakes head- I don’t understand people who get selfish over virtual items…

I can confirm the achievement chests gave the PvP exclusive armor. I know because I got Stalwart armor from them, and this was back when I seldom played PvP (certainly not enough to get those sets in any case).
Aside from that, the fact that you’re admitting you’d wear armor you don’t like just because of the prestige associated with it is kinda sad. As mentioned before, there are plenty of other ways to show prestige than through an armor set you hate, such as titles or rank finishers. Frankly though, I think you’re just being overly selfish over what ultimately amounts to digital items in a game that is meant to be fun for everyone, not just for a self entitled minority. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it makes business sense for ANet to cater to the majority.

I am with you. Some players really need a “Special Snowflake” title.

Stalwart armor was not from Rank X chests, so it was a possible reward from achievement chests (but it was also available from personal story in pve)
I figured the ones who’d get it would dye themselves to look like crap.

Sorry, but I don’t support any form of elitism. I have been here since day one in beta.

Bringing it back didn’t ruin anything. Period. Stop being melodramatic. Hell newer players wouldn’t have even known what it was from so already your entire argument is moot because if they don’t know what it was from then they never would have seen it and connected it to “veteran PvP player”.
