Thank you for making a great game.
Working hard at making us hate the game?
They’re doing it well!
I’ll admit it, I’m really upset over this recent change. But there are still lots of things I love about the game and want to compliment the developers on.
Love the ability to help other players without penalty, gather every item, and complete jumping puzzles over and over again for fun and reward (feels good to make use of my old platformer skills on occasion, lol =D).

I’m having a good time with the game.
I read your post. I just don’t agree. I think this is the beginning of the end for this game. I hope I’m wrong. I really do.

Thats just it. I understand there are some things that are wrong, and those things can be fixed or changed, But there is SO much about the game that is great, and they never get to hear from people the good things that they like. Just the bad.
It doesn’t matter if the game is good, they turned into something I hate. They abandoned their original vision in hope of raking in the dough from WoW refugees. They essentially lied for 7 years just because people who bought the game without doing any research whined about “NO numbers to chase.”
I honestly think if this game had a subscription either the dev’s would listen too us or the patches would be more thought out.
Games with subs’ that last going on almost 10 years… work for a reason I guess?

Regardless, they’ve gone and shot themselves in more than just the foot.
Look at what NCsoft’s stocks did.

People don’t get as upset and angry over changes like ascended gear unless they truly cared a great deal about the game. All the anger, resentment and hostility over the recent revalations, the endless threads and posts spread across every site that has anything to do with the game (it’s overwhelming how poorly recieved this has been) is because those people cared a great deal about the game. They very much cared for an experience the developers created, something that they perceive to be taken away from them in it’s desired and promised form because of these changes.
I’d still be playing the game if I were the only person left. Yes, I’m upset about the treadmill, but everything else about the game has drawn me in so much that I can’t go back. Hell, Borderlands 2 was just a non-stop treadmill and I loved that game to the core of my being. Fact is, I’m enjoying my time in the game too much to stop just because of some extra numbers. I’ll probably end up keeping up anyway.

Neither you our I can come up with numbers as too who represents a greater portion of a player base…
So I go buy how a business works, who gets paid, and the fact I pay more for cable than a game and get less out of cable.
Entertain me, that’s all I ask for my money.
There are some things I do not agree with but overall (like only having random lottery cash shop items like Consortium Chests), I really like this game and I have already stated that I will stick with them until the end. Big content patches like this are the proof of their hard work and dedication.
This game is new and I’m sure they’re learning a lot from this experience. This game will only get better as long as we stand alongside them and lead them in the right direction.

I would have to agree. I will play this game even if I am the last person left. I think all these issue will pan out. Once the gear is out, and people get over it. All will be fine. The game will settle eventually with a good community. I am just keen on playing and enjoying the game, and making sure Arena-net knows I thank them for it.

I used to think like that. Around about when necromancers were revealed to have over 100 bugs

Same here. Ask me how long I stuck with Warhammer Online.

If 700 people try something and 699 fail, that’s not proof that the last guy had a super secret good technique going that should be replicated. That’s proof he got lucky.
WoW works because it got lucky to be the first big social MMO game were people invited their friends. They’re rolling off that, and from what I hear, losing steam (-3 mil subs in the last year? How many more next year?)

Weird… I didn’t bring up numbers or even percentages/majority or minority in my post. What the kitten are you talking about?
Currently, I still enjoy the game, however; I know I will lose my enthusiasm once I’m excluded from participating in future content (once the full gear treadmill thing with the ascendant items is implemented), because I didn’t “grind” for the current “flavor-of-the month” gear/stats items. Remembers WoW gear checks and shudders
With that said, I’d still like to thank ArenaNet for the past three months of what equated to being in a constant state of MMORPG nirvana for me.
