Guild Wars 2

I’ve been a fan of mini pets since the first time I saw my brother’s mini Kirin in GW1. It’s hard to explain why but there’s just something about them which I love, whether they’re cute tiny animals or vicious monsters.

I collected them in that game (never got all of them, but I tried) and when GW2 was released I decided I’d try to collect them all in this game too.

I was therefore a bit disappointed when I found out that the vast majority of mini pets came from the gem store. It’s an understandable business decision and with a few very rare exceptions (the Wintersday Mystery Box minis for example) I’ve been happy to pay for them. But it’s so much more satisfying to obtain them in game – especially when it’s a direct reward and not RNG based.

Therefore I’ve been extremely happy to see that starting with HoT and now with the past 3 Living Story releases there’s been lots of mini pets available as rewards for completing the content. I haven’t gotten all of them yet (I haven’t even started raiding) but I’m very much looking forward to it. I know it will make the minis seem all the more special when I do get them.

I was happy to see Mini Chicken + obtainable in game. Been wanting one a long time, lol.
(need a chicken tonic that can jump now :> )

That’s an added bonus – I really like most of the minis added in this release. I especially want the chicken, the quaggan and the owl griffon. And Aurene of course.

Now I just need to get on and collect them.
