You need to take off your armor to transmute it now I assume. Previously you could transmute equipped armor, but it would put it into inventory afterwards anyway.

Unfortunately, the spot that used to be safe to fall into from is now a new insta-kill point. Getting to a particular part of the fall will instantly do massive damage, without you hitting anything. I reported it, but couldn’t get it at the exact spot that it triggered.

Staying fairly far left kept me alive on the second try tonight.

Definitely a big thank you. My wife’s personal story has been bugged for a month (it had that issue where it skipped 8 events and put her ahead in the story). The patch fixed it and put her back where she originally left off. I didn’t see that documented, so whether it was a happy accident or something that they planned, it’s still great.

Maybe people will quit complaining about so many things now…but I doubt it.

Is it intended for the montly survivor achievement to go into / (thats what it is saying on the achievements tab now for me and a guildmember) or are you puzzling bout a new solution for this achievement (cause I agree there are some issues with it) and this is a filler till then?? For the rest a good update.

I do hope that the bugged skillpoints and events are most off all solved now. In the beginning it wasn’t a big issue, but the last day there was almost no map that was bug free. If there are still (hard to fix) skill points and events, I would like to suggest to make an update every few days. Even if it is an empty one, just to reset the maps, so the bugged things are working again for a good amount of time. (or actually don’t call them updates but map resets to get a good expectation what it is when it hits us).

For the rest I am very happy keep on the good work

@Haishao.6851 really…. I had no idea… I just hope you have the idea that I’m using sarcasm right now. No crap dude. It’s still an annoyance that we have to unequip our items to transmute them. Why the hell does it even matter? Was there a big bug that people were abusing or did a Blizzard employee get into ArenaNet HQ and decide they should add some minor annoyance to slow people down like the thousands of things that do that in Warcrap.

There was a bug that made characters nude, I’m guessing the easiest way to fix it was to remove the ability to transmute equipped items.

When doing some jumping puzzles, like Troll’s End in Lion’s Arch, Spelunker’s Delve in Caledon Forest, and a few others, especially with a tall character like a norn or charr…

You would end up having the camera butt up directly behind the character’s head, or off to a side. It would be extremely difficult to navigate the jumps due to most of your vision being blocked.

Now (after doing Troll’s End last night post-patch on my norn), during those portions, the camera will go inside the character but without obscuring your screen. There is still the “jumping” camera glitch, where in certain positions, the screen will constantly jitter.

My post concerning DR was deleted because I wasn’t considered respectful enough and I demanded an answer from the company. In this post I am attempting to rewrite my concerns according to the forum rules.

I am hurt and confused regarding the silent DR changes that went into this patch. Arenanet is clearing telling us how they do not want us to play, but has not explained why, nor offered a viable alternative. With the current DR things simply take longer. I’ve already poured every free minute I have into this game towards reaching the lofty legendary goal while juggling this with a “full time life”, but it wasn’t enough.

I strongly believe the community deserves communication on this matter. Ultimately we have to accept Arenanet’s decision, and we may choose to stop supporting the game if we decide this decision does not align with what we want from the game. But no matter how this plays out, it would make everyone much happier if we could hear something back.

I’m posting in this thread because my primary area of concern is that this major change was not in the patch notes and there is no sign of communication on the matter thus far from the company. While I’m thrilled about several of the bug fixes (notably dungeon token rewards and account bound item changes), I find it to be the worst patch thus far due to the aforementioned problems.

My post concerning DR was deleted because I wasn’t considered respectful enough and I demanded an answer from the company. In this post I am attempting to rewrite my concerns according to the forum rules.

You can request an answer, but unless your one of ANet’s executives, investors, or stock-holders, you dont really get to ‘demand’. Being a customer does not give you a right to ‘demand’ from any company.

Same reason I cant ‘demand’ from my car dealership that they sell me that car for 20% of the price. I can request they drop the price, and I have the freedom to not buy from them and go elsewhere. But if I buy the car, and later find out that I really wanted something else, I can ‘request’ possible trades, but I cant ‘demand’..

I dont understand this. I do EM dungeons all the time, and finish within 35 mins most runs. I never hit the DR, so unless your clearing them too quickly by bypassing content, I can see why they would implement this (which they mentioned that the DR was 30 mins I believe)

I strongly believe the community deserves communication on this matter. Ultimately we have to accept Arenanet’s decision, and we may choose to stop supporting the game if we decide this decision does not align with what we want from the game. But no matter how this plays out, it would make everyone much happier if we could hear something back.

You seem to figure it out here anyway =).

Fixed a bug in dungeon speed-clearing code. Players should no longer experience reward reductions without triggering the speed-clearing debuff.

This was in the patch notes. And if I had a desire too, I could probably find their posts about what DR is supposed to do as well (It was all in the dungeon forums). Hence why I knew about the 30 min timer.

Thanks Anet for the great patch.

Haha very good! :P

Also to people who say “thanks”, I mean really? All of these updates are things which should have been thoroughly tested BEFORE the game was released. The huge amount of event and skill challenge fixes every update and too many story mode missions to remember, it’s ridiculous, these are the main aspects of this game! Saying “thanks” for something that shouldn’t need doing is slightly silly really.

But you can demand that the wheels don’t fall off.
And if the wheels do fall off then it’s not special if the dealership fixes it. There’s actually law (in most civilized countries) that says a product must do what it can reasonably expected to do.

No, but you do need to be aware that very often projects must be released to the public before they are completed due to financial reasons, lack of resources, or due to poor management. You should also be aware that some issues do not show up until released to a wider audience (most issues being pounded on in this product were known in beta, however).

Just be sure you are directing your annoyances at the real cause (which you likely are not aware of).

Duh, but I am responding to his notion that all software bugs should be tested and removed prior to release. This is not possible!

From http://www.ece.cmu.edu/~koopman/des_s99/sw_testing/

Software bugs will almost always exist in any software module with moderate size: not because programmers are careless or irresponsible, but because the complexity of software is generally intractable — and humans have only limited ability to manage complexity. It is also true that for any complex systems, design defects can never be completely ruled out.

Discovering the design defects in software, is equally difficult, for the same reason of complexity. Because software and any digital systems are not continuous, testing boundary values are not sufficient to guarantee correctness. All the possible values need to be tested and verified, but complete testing is in-feasible. Exhaustively testing a simple program to add only two integer inputs of 32-bits (yielding 2^64 distinct test cases) would take hundreds of years, even if tests were performed at a rate of thousands per second. Obviously, for a realistic software module, the complexity can be far beyond the example mentioned here. If inputs from the real world are involved, the problem will get worse, because timing and unpredictable environmental effects and human interactions are all possible input parameters under consideration.

The amount of bugged content in this game is astounding. I am not blaming the developers, but the marketing team which obviously picked the release date. All of the areas past level 40 are half-baked. Personal story was terribly bugged. The Zhaitan fight is obviously just a placeholder. It’s unfortunate that the game was pushed out by the marketers before it was “ready”, and the developers are getting blamed for it.
