Hey,

I just wanted to say thank you for this awesome game, ANet. By far my favourite MMORPG. I think I didn´t spend so much time with any other game on pc. The open world was amazing, the questsystem was revolutionary and how you could accomplish every quest with every player on the map was awesome, the (active) fightsystem is by far the best fightsystem in any MMORPG I have ever played etc. and let´s not forget about WvW which is loved by many or the fact this game doesn´t require subscription fee. THANK YOU!

However, after 2.000 hours, several characters on 80 and 2 legendaries(Bifrost and Incinerator both on my elementalist) I (sadly) have to say good bye Guild Wars 2.
Here are some reasons why:

- Endgame: there is literally no endgame in Guild Wars 2 besides getting a legendary. Fractals isn´t worth the time, because the rewards are lame. Only reason I(and friends) played fractals was because I wanted the shiny backpack.
However, WvW for me was kind of an Endgame. It´s amazing, needs skill and tactics and fighting other zergs is fun. Also WvW opened the option to go and roam, which i did a lot. But, we saw like 2(EoTM, Season 1) Updates for WvW in the last 12 months. Season 1 was amazing(full maps 24/7 and everyone´s motivated to win the matchup), EoTM was, sorry, bullkitten(there are already hundreds of posts about it, so i don´t go deeper into it). Second thing is the new matchmaking-system, I like to play versus servers on the same level, but fighting the same servers 3 weeks in a row is just boring. Our teamspeak(which is usually full) is empty(100 people) since 2 weeks and even on primetime there is no queue…which means even less players. And here is the next reason…

- Playerbase: I don´t know the playbase of Guild Wars 2(and please dont tell me: “GW 2 has a risning playerbase”, of course you have, because you cant delete your account or cancel subscription fee like in other MMORPGS so a rising playerbase is the only option ) but for an MMORPG this game feels empty. The only full maps are lions arch or maps with a farmtrain. Especially the starter areas are empty. 90% of my friends who played have (sadly) quit the game long ago(most of the time because there was no endgame). You try to keep the playerbase interested with Living Story, but…

- Living Story: I(!) was never really interested in living story, sometimes I played the released content, but after 2 days I saw everything and I started to do what I always did(run dungeons and fractals for the xxxx time,go and play WvW/PvP). The only reason I was interested in the content when there was a nice looking reward for the achievements(like the backpiece from Southsun Cuve)

- Updates: Instead of releasing content every 2 weeks you should go and read the forums or play the game you created, because there are still 4390583094 bugs and glitches in this game(perfect example is Arah – I dont think I need to say more?). ANother reason why you should stop the releasing of new content every week is the lack of good content. Lets the the flamekiss armor for example? I mean really? Like, really really? After the kittenstorm you removed and replaced it…with another recycled skin. GG Just stop for a few months and fix your game before you create new content.

- Balance: Okay, I know creating balance isn´t easy, but when there is something ANet is bad in(this is a complement), it will be balance. On this forum are literally thousands of (fair) suggestions how to balance classes from experienced players but I never saw one of them in the updates. Warriors(for example) are overpowered since 6 months(?) and you still couldn´t fix them – here is your reason why no one is playing PvP. Eles are kittened up since > 1 year and you still couldn´t fix them. Get my point? It takes to long, in this time you lose tons of players. But it´s not only classbalance when I´m talking about balance, it´s abalance in general. For example rewards, this video says it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXDXeVoWclc

I could go on(why you change things in the game without telling us( http://funny-pictures-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/funny_obama1.jpg ) or why isn´t there a better filteroption for the TP etc,), but these are the 5 main points for me.

Long story short: thank you ANet, I really enjoyed your game but now I look forward to other games(especially Everquest). I´ am sure I´ll login again…in a few months maybe or when you finally release content which takes a kittenload of time to play through(not Living Story where you have done and seen everything after 2 days).

Life good bros

The youtube reward video was simply EPIC. Hope you find your way as I hope I do as well, fare-thee-well.

Thank you. Just found this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Huge-drop-down-in-WvW-population/first

Sums up my critic and as you can see, I´m not the only one.

I can certainly understand where the OP is coming from, the game really lacks goals to work toward, and even where there is things to work toward then there is no reward for doing so. An example of this would be WvW ranking system, it is a form of progression and something to work at, but in the end what do you get from it? nothing really, you can be super high rank and no one on your server will even know, its totally backwards.

Then there is the fact that no new armor sets or weapons have been added to the game outside of the cash shop, this game has become way to cash shop driven, and Ive noticed since the number of people playing drops the more they push the cash shop to make up for lost income, well thats my theory anyway.

All in all, I find GW2 to be kinda like a lobby based MMO, I laugh everytime I hear people talk about its open world, this is not my idea of open world at all, waypoints and loading screen? it completely kills the feeling of being a world, as I said feels like a lobby based game.
Im very close to leaving also, to many things just dont sit right with me.
