Ok so I know I said I wouldn’t be posting anymore on the forums because I felt like we weren’t being listened to (from my previous thread on lack of male skimpy armour), but after seeing all this Abaddon goodness come to GW2, it made me seriously take this back.

When I saw the Abaddon weapon skin set make its appearance in the gemstore, despite initially not liking or understanding the 2 ticket price tag per skin, I thought, well, to be fair, it is justified because remember the days when all skins cost between 80-120g initially? The only difference is that it costs 2 tickets, instead of 1. It’s pretty much the same price as they were ages ago anyway.

When I also took into consideration the amazing attention to detail these skins have, I thought, you know what? The ticket price is justified.

As you can tell I’m a huge Abaddon fanboy and the tormented realms from GW1, so naturally, when I saw these weapon skins, I just had to have them all. I spent all my money and sold everything in my bank to afford them all, and I have to say this is the first black lion weapon skin set I have wanted the entire set of. The closest set I ever got to obtaining all skins was the chaos skin set, of which I don’t even have half of them unlocked.

So to me, it’s a real compliment to Chelsea, who worked on these Abaddon skins. I even came across her by chance, the other day at the Royal Terrace in Divinity’s Reach, and said how much I loved the skins. She was delighted that they were well received, and I asked her what the most difficult Abaddon weapon skin was, to design – she said it was the hammer, and that she had to make it twice, scrapped it, and completely started over.

I’m so glad that Anet have added all these Abaddon themed things, and I hope in the future we get to see some god themed armor skins too perhaps? That would be really awesome.

Anyway, keep up the awesome work, and thanks again for making such an awesome, detailed weapon skin set, Chelsea – you’re a legend!!!

Oh, and just one more thing – PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make underwater weapon skins for all the black lion weapon sets sometime (when you guys have time) after the expansion. I know underwater content isn’t a priority and everything, but it would be really cool to one day be able to complete our skin sets with trident, spear and harpoon gun skins.

Gliders for: balthazar, kormir, dwayna, grenth, melandru, lyssa, dhuum, menzies

Weapon sets: kormir, grenth, melandru, lyssa, dhuum, menzies
Backpieces (not the new Orr ones, specialized individual ones): abaddon, dhuum, menzies, kormir
Btw, when I say outfits I mean avatars – the outfits are of avatars of Balthazar, dwayna, etc. so there’s still a full set of outfits of the actual gods. So far we’ve only seen Balthazar though, but haven’t we seen dhuum and abaddon in the first game? So outfits of actual gods are also a thing. This is a real cash cow, there are two outfits, weapon set, glider, and backpiece for every god!

I’d love to see some dhuum inspired armor, weapon, outfit, and glider skins too.

Despite the increased ticket cost for the new Abaddon skins from the norm, I found their designs tasteful considering I’ve actually been wanting a decent black/red weapon skin theme. Props to Chelsea for making these designs.

While I’m not a fan of the glider per-say, I do look forward to the recently datamined Abaddon helm skin… I have my doubts though regarding it’s implementation and something tells me it’s going to either be in the gem store or locked behind RNG BLCs.
