Thanks for the specialization AMA
Yes, thanks! I was happy to watch the whole thing. Mostly. I flagged towards the end, no idea how you guys kept up the energy, and I did want to see the General Questions part shown on the agenda. But what you gave us was a tremendous info dump, shared by devs clearly having fun with what they do, showing a fun human side to the design team.
Also I just might feel the need to play my engineer. He exists only for his name, for my having one of each prof at 80, and for rare RP sessions, because I find keyboard control of Engie very clunky and he’s a Norn so he feels clunky. But those new kits look so fun!
I wasn’t able to watch it all. So will it be somewhere for me to watch again uninterrupted for the full 4-5 hours?

Twitch broadcasts are always archived, so you should be able to watch it again right now if you go to the GW2 Twitch page and pick to view “Past Broadcasts”.
It should be on the Official Youtube channel by tomorrow, as well.
I’ll echo the thanks. I’m still not entirely sold on the idea, but I’m glad to have a lot more information about what’s going to happen now.

I agree. Thank you for hosting such a long AMA for our sole benefit and clarity. I’m sorry there is so many people who are throwing negative comments around who use made-up arguments and fallacies to spread discontent and unrest among the forums. The new system addresses a lot of the issues with the current system that a lot of people don’t want to see go because it might ruin their “build” never mind the fact that several new builds are going to be opened up. In addition to this a lot of those “mandatory” traits for classes have been made standard baseline abilities inherent to the player and not even needed to be trait’d into much less cause hesitations when picking traits. This results in less traits but a wider variety of clearly more powerful traits (quality over quantity for sure). I am looking forward to seeing more, including how the specializations interact with the base class’ abilities.
Thank you.

Yes, thank you! Also, special thanks for showing us the new Engineer aesthetics and skill changes. <3
I imagine it takes quite a thick skin to be an MMO game dev. Even more so to go on camera in front of thousands of players and show a brand new system that’s not even finished solely for our benefit. Hats off to you Jon, and the rest of your team. Excited to play it!
