Being killed 5000 times and coming back each time doesn’t make much sense either, silly lore explainations are still silly lol.
This isn’t pokemon, evolution takes a long time. The Teq species has finally struggled enough it is environment it has finally adapted to increase its own survival. This is a totally natural occurrence throughout the history of life, just ask Charles Darwin.
It makes sense. The story and the game are not quite the same. Even if you never did any personal story content beyond the introduction to the three orders, you can go to Orr and see the Pact working together. So from your perspective, a few days ago the three orders couldn’t agree on anything and just call each others names, and now they are working together as one.
Also, Teq doesn’t pop out of the water every three hours and stand there getting shot at. You’re replaying a single encounter over and over, in the story Teq learns how dangerous these little ants are and adapts his attack based on what he learned.
If they truly want a Living World then there will be things like this happening, where existing content is updated over time to move the story forward. I wouldn’t be surprise if, a year from now, parts of Orr were reclaimed by the living and were being repaired and resettled.
As long as it doesn’t develop opposable thumbs, we should be safe.

Except the Teq that is evolving is the same Teq we’ve been fighting, unless what you’re saying is that each time we kill Teq, a new Teq is hatched and grows up and fights us. Even Darwin would never say species evolve mid-life, it’s over the course of generations. Not like Teq can just cocoon itself and then pop out like Butterfree.

Story does not equal game. Think of it like the holodeck on Star Trek NG, where you can go in and replay historical events over and over and say " what would happen if George Washington was killed early in the Revolution?"
In the story, Teq attacked and was driven off, after healing from his wounds he returns and now he’s mad, but won’t underestimate those ants he intends to crush.
