Stop your wining. Change is good, even this one.

That is silly. In general this change is good, but for some players this change has negative consequences. And those people could complain here.

Simplifying how infusions work and how to get AR is a great change. Everyone who has ever tried to explain infusions to someone else will be happy with the change. But players who used infusions not for AR but for other things have a good reason not to be so happy. And if you have your gear complete with AR the +5 infusion you get back in your mail from the amulet is useless.

Change almost always comes with bad as well as good.

We can approach change in one of three ways, really:

1) Glass is half full
2) Glass is half empty
3) What the kitten! I didn’t order this! Bring me the manager!

I kinda prefer #1. #2 is being negative over something you can’t control, and #3 just promotes negative reactions or otherwise being ignored by others.

Games are supposed to help teach agency. Stand up, brush yourself off, and figure out what to do with the reality before you.

The elimination of the limit is good, but I have now a total of 50 defensive WvW infusions that are garbage because the offensive are better. 250 Laurels + 55 from amulet. I want to have it back, thank you.

This sounds similar with people who have shared inventory slots and multiple sets of gathering tools or several copper-fed kits — ANet’s stance has always been: you had the opportunity to benefit from these upgrades for some time; there won’t be any refund because you’ve already received value for the cost.

Regardless of whether one agrees, this has been their consistent stance. ANet’s confirmed this, since a consequence of a refund would adding a lot of laurels that can be converted into gold (via Heavy Crafting Bags).

It can’t hurt to put in a support ticket to ask for a refund, especially if you bought these within the last week or three.

I have no problem with change, Id just like less assumptions in the patch notes when they make changes like this.. the note was wholly cryptic at best to the casual player and not easy to follow unless you have the time to follow every AMA, podcast and stream thats done (some of us don’t have that kind of time , and GW2 prides itself on being geared for the casual player.. so they dropped the ball on this) .. I eventually sorted it out by reading forum posts from other hapless souls, but it wasn’t clear at all within the scope of the game what the heck I was supposed to do .. they could have and should have done a better job making it much clearer.

I just submitted a ticket asking Anet to allow me to at least exchange 2 of my returned infusions that cost 5 laurels for 1 enrichment since they cost 10. So that way I’d at least get something out of them to put in the vacant amulet slot without having to spend even more laurels. I thought it was worth a shot as they stated they will not give a laurel refund out of concerns for the economy. I’ll post back when I get an answer.

I actually don’t really care as much that the change to the amulet happened as much as I do the fact that I now have a bunch of infusions that I won’t be able to use anytime soon, if ever. Knowing that there will be absolutely zero compensation for this and the fact that they’re account bound so can’t be put on the tp sucks. THAT is the issue!

LOL I hate threads like this, and I dislike reading them. Watch this video and you will understand why, it doesn’t matter and its actually a buff not a nerf.

But ONLY if you do fractals. Otherwise this is impossible, right? The only way to get the mists essences required is to either get them in fractals, or by purchasing them from the 595 vendor golem – for Fractal Relics – which you get by…you guessed it…via Fractals.

I don’t do fractals. I hate fractals. Hate them. Don’t want to do them. So now what?

The Ammy should have both the new utility slot and an infusion slot. That would fix most of this.

From now on I think I’ll never be able to call it something other than an ‘ammy.’ Thank you for that, lol.

And, I like this suggestion.

Remember when they removed MF from gear?

Yes, I do, and I referred to it (indirectly) above. They had almost exactly the same problem then: they took away the magic find from one piece (amulet, I think), and replaced it with nothing. For balance reasons. Sound familiar?

Back then I quit playing for a month in protest. I did not return until they (privately) admitted their error and refunded my laurels.
