Hi there!

It now seems that the nerf to crit damage (berserker) in the upcoming features patch is pretty much set in stone. This bodes well for all non-berserker players.

However, I feel it is absolutely necessary that people with L80 Ascended and Exotic gear with berserker stats get to choose new stats without having to grind for new gear once the patch hits. It’s incredibly unfair to make these players spend all that time and effort again if berserker builds are no longer viable (high probability, as an overnerf is likely here).

I really hope you allow this, Anet. It certainly won’t be hard to do as the system is already implemented for many Ascended items.

Thanks!

Regardless of how much the nerf is, zerker gear will still have the highest dps of all the armor sets, so if that’s all you cared about before, it shouldn’t matter.

The only other time they’ve let people reselect armor stats was when they removed magic find completely from the armor. But since this is just a retooling I’m leaning towards them not letting a reselect (maybe 60:40). It’s somewhat similar to whenever they release a new stat set, they don’t let everyone who already has an ascended piece choose the new stat for free.

Never going to happen. They would need to give free gear changes for every balance patch if that happened, which would completely defeat the purpose of the entire 3-4 month grind they have spent the last year implementing.

I don’t know under which rock you have been living but it has already been said it would be a 10% nerf in DPS for the pure 100% min/max dps’rs. People have already done the math. Ferocity will be around 11-15 points for 1% crit damage. In other words nothing will change for berserker. If anything, people will have even more of an incentive to run zerk because mixed builds will have far lower crit damage now.

That said, ascended gear should be the way legendaries are, where a player is allowed to switch stats at any time. The only ‘grind’ there should be is the first time you go for ascended gear and for all the alts a player might want to gear up aswell. This would allow players to switch their setups between PvE and WvW without having to get a second gear set.

Quoted for truth.

It changes nothing but making zerker groups slower. So keep your gear.

This change will make other sets of gear even worse than they are now (ex: Assassins) instead of making them more appealing, Zerker gear will still be the best dps option, to make other sets viable (viable in the sense of an even play field as zerker) pve wise ANet would have to introduce new mechanics and change both dungeons and mob behaviour because right now its just stack and dps. (even gw1 was better in this regard).

the 2h dbl sigil balances it out nicely though

-10% crit dmg
+5% crit

Zerker’s will still be the best DPS, but soliders will be better than knights / valkyrie. So if you went full zerker your fine, if you did anything else it may be time to evaluate options.

For example, I have just got my alts geared out in a reasonable manner for WvW. I’m not going to start over again. It’s just not worth it to me. I will also not be buying a five dollar gem store item that allows me to change stats (not that this is even on the table, but I can see it as a possibility).

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.

They also had plans to remove the buff from on kill sigils, such as bloodlust, when they’re no longer equipped.

Just a question.
To what stat you would change to?

Charter Vanguard [CV] – HoD
Bardy Belzebuson – Ranger Sir Belzebu – Herald
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I would take my cavalier trinkets for WvW and swap them for soldiers or knights.

sigh.
I don’t think you even know why you are wearing berserker armor.

As usual people ignore the real problem with this change. Berserker gear isn’t the problem. Cavalier, Valkyrie, assassin’s, of-the-knights, and celestial gear are the problem.

It’s easy to discount the request for stat change when you myopically focus on the one set that wouldn’t require a change.
