Link the waypoint and you get people helping fast. Even if they’re not just being nice, they’ll still want the karma awards.

Oh I agree. I am always impressed with how helpful folks are .. we were up in Dwayna’s temple one day and there’s a skillpoint behind her that I couldn’t get. I jokingly asked map chat if anyone would come rescue me and was astounded as more than six people showed up .. it wound up triggering two events that lead to an epic battle with Dwayna herself and was just an overall amazing experience. This is just one example of what I’ve experienced myself … and there’s a lot more like me out there that have shared the same with the community and playerbase.

I’m amazed to see people helping out others such as going out of their way to res you or help down the champion boss you accidentally aggroed.
While the forum shows the latter, the online community is good enough for me.

I agree with the OP that GW2 has a great in-game community. But my suggestion is to take these forums with a grain of salt and stick to the in-game community to gauge the health of GW2.
To keep the good image in your head, i suggest you to leave the forums now eheheh. Just to be clear and not get an erased message, there’s a lot of negativity and “the game should be like this because I say so” here.
The in-game community is great… the forums however… Come to think of it, I have yet to find a single gaming forum for any MMO that isn’t filled with negativity.
