Q:

The question is if I should keep it for my Thief/Ranger or try selling it to get another legendary with some extra gold in between..? I changed to Herald main now and not sure if i should keep the bow when it´s done or to get a Juggernaut, Bolt, Frostfang or Flameseeker Prophecies.. ?

It’s a hard choice because i don’t have any Ascended Weapons but i have a Quip already so it’s my second Legendary.

Hope some nice people in these forums could answer me. I’m totally lost here. :P

Ultimately, only you can decide.

  • Juggernaut owners love the skin/effects. Bolt owners: mixed, strong feelings (either 4+ or 2-, on a 1-5 scale). Flameseeker: people who crafted it are diehard fans; those that bought …not so much. I don’t have a strong sense for Frostfang appreciation.
  • Make sure you actively use a build that includes the weapon-of-choice. If you don’t, you’ll have spent a lot for a short-lived benefit.
  • There are new legendaries (Staff, Axe, Pistol) and new ones will be coming out — how sure are you that these are the legends you are seeking?

For prices…

  • You shouldn’t expect to net much more than 2.5k gold anytime soon…and that’s if you sell at an aggressive price of ~3k. A more realistic net is closer to 2k, unless you’re very patient.
  • Flameseeker: 1900g is realistic for a relatively quick purchase, so you could end up with some spare gold.
  • Frostfang: I can’t see that going for much less than 2k in the near term.
  • Bolt: 2400g is the lowest near term price that I’d recommend as a target, meaning: not enough from Dreamer alone.

In other words, Dreamer can help you finance direct purchase of another legendary, but it’s going to require aggressive price both to buy and sell — you might therefore prefer to craft it, instead. Discounting your labor and time, you’d save ~900-1000g if you put in custom buy offers for the mats (and precursor), which means: you could afford Bolt and you’d have money leftover from creating the others.

Summary:

  • mileage varies a lot across the legends
  • make sure you have an active build for it
  • if you use the TP, put in custom offers and craft the ‘replacement’ legendary yourself, if possible
  • make the decision first, then ask again for help on specific target prices — there’s a lot of folks quite good at doing that here (most of us would be willing to use PMs, if you prefer)

I take it this is mainly for PvE?

If you plan on raiding, you should really aim for full ascended (including armor) – especially as you appear to have the gold for it.

Once that is done, if you want to equip your herald, sword is the most important legendary (i.e. Bolt). Also, out of the list you have, sword is used in a lot of other professions:

Thieves – For trash mobs in Dungeons
Power Ranger/ Druid – Highest dps weapon
Condi Warrior – Used with a torch
Mesmer – weapon of choice in pve

Personally, if you are going to use the shortbow, keep it. If not, sell it and get ascended gear if you don’t have it or craft a weapon you will use a lot. As you said, Herald is your main now and their weapons for raids are normally sword/axe + staff.

That’s a question with no definite right or wrong answer, plus a lot of it hinges on your personal opinions/feelings. For example I have Dreamer on my Ranger but I am usually playing my Ele or Rev these days. I don’t regret getting the Dreamer for a second (it is my only legendary). You might feel differently. But it’s not a question anyone can really answer for you

The other question is how quickly you want to sell it? At the moment there are orders for 1,800 &1,850G, whilst the selling price is 2,400G. The trouble you need 120G just to put it on the TP at that price, and you’ll lose another 240G if & when it sells. So you’ll get 1860 if & when, or about 1570 if you decide to sell immediately, if the 1850 offer is still there…

As the other two have said, only you can decide, but I’d say the advice to consider how much you’re actually going to use it is the most important bit.

Thank you for the answers, now i just have to bite the bullet.. and save up for Zap and the other mats i think, to bad i didnt save the money from Lover and such :P But that skin in of itself is cool.

And isn’t TP prices, 5% to but up the item and 10% loss of price from TP? not 10% and 20%?

Yes, it is 5% & 10%. I presume you’re querying the other poster’s figures – I know mine are correct!
