The Future Of Gw2
No real thoughts aside from a big hell no to the faction division, IMO.

Not a fan of WoW’s horde vs alliance. Keep the faction stuff to WvWvW.
I would however like to get that door open to the Crystal Desert and what Palawa Joko has been up to.
WvWvW is good enough for Factions.
If you want old fashioned Factions.. go play UO for $13.50/month.
I thought about it too. Everytime I’m in the Charr areas, and see the fighting between the Charr and Ascalonians…I want to wipe out the entirety of the Charr in the region..
I think it’s entirely possible to work out a Cantha, 250 years later, where players don’t necessarily have to choose Luxon or Kurzick.
What would be really freakin’ fantastic, however, is to bring back the Alliance system. This multiple guild repping system is awful for community building.

WoW invented factions. This one comes right after"Minecraft invented pixelart"
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I don’t think, that they will introduce RvR system into open world when they already have WvW. If you want RealmvsRealm improvement(and i want this improvement btw), it should be implemented in WvW.
However, i think that open world is perfectly suitable for GvG style of combat. For example War of Emperium(from RO) kind of thing, with castles in open world, that are contested once per week.

The idea of the races breaking off to kill each other kind of goes against the established story for GW2.
The one where the races come together and fight the Dragons.
If I want factions fighting each other I’ll play WvW.
Even the PvE Living Stories give me battles where sections of a race (or a collaboration) try to fight the established order.
I curb stomp them and continue with my adventures.
One of the issues that troubles me the most on WoW is, precisely, the race-based factions. If my buddies are Horde, and I want to play a Alliance-alligned race, I will be torn about what to choose.
I could accept non-race-based factions, as in “every character choose its side”, but I also think that with WvWvW we have something very close to that.

Well, not really. Each race has their own antagonist counterparts: Norn – Sons of Svanir,
Asuran – Inquest ect.
I’m not a fan of faction warfare (which would ultimately lead to a) open-PvP and b) complications when it comes to WvW), but I’d just though I’d point that out.

Yeah I know of the renegade factions, but I was against ixon’s idea of say Asuran and Humans fighting Charr.
Race wars….bleh. The point of Flame Legion is that they want to be the jerky wartorn race of Charr, while the reasonable and smart Charr of Iron, Blood, and Ash would prefer to not fight others solely based on race. I like that GW2 has lots of good groups of mainly hostile races, like Skritt, Grawl, etc.
