The Golem conspiracy.
Haha I’m loving this. Be careful though on taking on ANet and the hidden conspiracy, you might be over your head here! May need to gather some more people. Would be a shame if you were to…“disappear”..
I am shocked and outraged after finding out the above information.
After a long day of adventuring, nothing made me feel more at home than seeing all those magnificent Powersuits scattered all over my beloved Lions Arch.
How will I ever feel safe, how will I ever keep my children safe without these eternal guardians watching over my home, day and night.
Please Arena Net, reconsider a decision that could potentially put the entire population of Lions Arch at risk.
Your sincerely
A concerned, pistol wielding, master chef Human Engineer.

My krewe have been noted of the situation and my whereabouts.
If anything should happened to me or my golems they will notify the authorities.

Sounds like you got it covered then.
I can only wish you good luck sir, on your journey to uncover the dirty truth.
Tread lightly, I’m sure you can dissapear just as fast as your Golems…
at least this thread can
This is inhuman! How can they expect to get away with such a crime! Did they give a thought to those poor golem families? What will they do now with their livelihoods in ruins.

no, it’s inasuran…
Anet you locked a topic about the Power Suits De spawning but I believe that this is a problem and you should not consider it trolling.
Anet I believed there was a very heavy emphasis on social and fun activities and removing something as harmless and fun as this is absurd I feel very shocked that you would, you may think this isn’t serious but it is I spent many days spawning in the Power Suits and I would like you to make it so they don’t de spawn so I can start having fun as much fun in Guild Wars 2 as I used to ;D… But Drama aside please consider adding it back to the game. as it would make more happy than it makes sad.
It would be nice if instead of making them De-spawn you could put the effort in to enable them not to be placed in insane places.
A reasonable response to why you chose to go about this would be appreciated and why it was not mentioned in the patch notes the more things like this you take away from the game the worse it gets.
Panda, your Golem collection is admirable… could even rival my own!
Let’s band together and see justice is served.
Here’s a pic of me posing proudly with my babies.
Best thread. I’m laughing my kitten off here.
a simple response is it’s clutter that causes server load and lag for those poor peons with low running computers. It can block things we need to see and lead to griefing if you clutter the markets or waypoints with them.
That said I think golems floating around is hilarious. I would love to see a set number of them allowed per instance that do not vanish. I have no issues with decorating the scenery with them!

I see… Golems by the Lion hey. hmm I have some of my own there too!
Surely you realise now Anet we want Golems back, I just want to see my kids again
To be serious for a second:
Since I turned 80 every day I’ve spent in Lions Arch in my boxers creating power suits everywhere.
Because of that I’ve made so many friends through people walking past and being like “whoah” to chatting away in /map all the time.
It has been a fantastic conversation start on /map and gets people talking and then talking about different things and it continues till friends are made.
After about a week it was clear who was in Lions Arch a lot and a small community was made through seeing the same people in /map all the time and partying at the Golems.
ArenaNet says they want the servers to be communities and this has helped ours more than it would seem at a glance.
Please consider letting me continue do this and as Grim said perhaps a map limit in them.
Thank you.

Looks like they added the de-spawn due to abuse.
Perhaps you should have used a little more moderation in building your powersuit army.
you see “harmless comunity building fun” i see graffiti. i can frankly understand designers spending countless hours modeling lions arch to give us a place to explore and marvel at being annoyed by finding it littered with golems.
you call it your only source of fun. I call it imature griefing of other players and an obvious exploit. I’m glad they put a stop to it.
There is another thread on the front page (as I type) asking if people have noticed load times getting longer.
Perhaps there is a connection here somewhere… if I could just put my finger on it…
;)

Considering power suit spamming has been removed prior to that thread being created, it only happening one one map on one server I don’t believe that’s the issue whatsoever.

I was a passer by at first, looking at the lion I loved it, grabbed myself a quick print screen spent maybe ten minutes trying to get one down. I then felt like I had destroyed something, part of the soul of a fellow Asura had been destroyed taking one of his/her beloved machines.
I then spent a little while chatting, conversing and making buddy’s with the first “artists” as well as popping down a few for myself, yeah it was 10 skill points but still. Taking part in the wonderful “state of the Arch” Lion lightened up my night.
Sad story. So many testimonials, it must be true.

Beautiful <3
It just goes to show someone who was passing by wondering “wtf” then becoming part of it.
Nice story!
Added nice poem to OP
Oh come on. Next you’ll be telling us Lion’s Arch was an inside job.

Bring back the lion’s arch golems! I never even got a print screen with them. Q_Q Not even one… =[
The golems in Lion’s Arch were seriously one of the most neat things about the game. I loved walking around and seeing floating golems!
Shmoot is also right, they did generate a lot of conversation among the /map channel and its regulars. If it doesn’t in some way harm the game, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be brought back.
Just quickly reminiscing:
That’s pretty sad that level one ranger will never get to see the Golems in all their glory.
I have another story where a guy came along and stole one of my Golems and I was a bit sad and told him please don’t and he explained to me how he was just passing bye. still a better love story than Twilight
Lions Arch has changed forever.
