Ok alot of talk about this, but here are a few simple things (Simple but still alot of work) that will fix condi.

1st, a few problems condi have.

1) Limit amount of stacks – This is due to bandwidth
2) Every player applies condi
3) Condi needs ramp-up (isnt a bad thing actually) and not many Modifiers

Some of the Fixes are actually really easy to do that can be a Short term fix, then there are the long term fixes that will make them “Wanted” in all parts of PvE.

Short Term Fixes NOTE* there fixes go with Long Term fixes just should be added Now into the game These fixes IMO are the MOST IMPORTANT Condi fixes that can happen.

1) Passive Traits that stack Condi - There are to many passive traits in the wrong trees that add Condi, warriors/engis etc.. on crits add Bleeds, thats ok, just place them in the Condi tree OR add them as a Trait you have to Choose, that way “Power Builds” wont be stacking pointless condis (ones that deal damage) Stacking cripple/chill/weakness is different, im talking about Damaging Condis.

2) Weapons - We clearly see anet wants Condi weapons and Power weapons, but at the same time they like classes to do everything so we get splash over of Condi in power weapons. Make a Weapon either Condi base or Power base.

3) Modifiers - Condi trait lines SHOULD have Condi damage modifiers just like power trees do. Either it be for Just 1 Condi (Poison damage plus 10%) or Grandmaster traits for all Condi damage plus 7% etc…

Long Term Goals is something that will take along time and alot of work from anet, but will be over all better, I dont know everything and I could be wrong, but this is something I feel would fix condi for all parts of the game.

Long term Fixes

If the bandwidth is a problem then work around it. Instead of letting players stack 25 bleeds/torment/confusion Instead let each player only apply 1 stack.

Bleeds, Poison, Confusion, Burning, Torment are the condis that is messed up, all other condis are fine ATM. So looking ONLY AT Bleeds/Poison/Confusion/Torment/Burning.

1) Players only get to apply 1 stack
2) Condi balance would need to change, Bleeding raise alittle, Burning lowered etc..
3) Some weapons that apply LOADS of condis will be “Nerfed” slightly (But it would be a nerf it just be balanced)
4) Condis on base weapons wont apply as fast (some wapons adds a condi per auto attack, would only add on 1st hit in chain etc…)
5) Balance condi Damage to be same as Power builds using “Range” damage, remember a DOT is not made to blow someone up, its make to “Damage over time” and kite players.

Tl;dr – Take away some of the condi from power traits/weapons, let condi players have the condis and give some condi modifiers for a good short term fix balanced around 5 players. Then Long term Work around the bandwidth problem.

Whats the difference now? You can put 5-10 bleeds on players with 1 skill some times, just like burn thats alot of damage, a condi player SHOULD always have many bleed stacks on a mob/player, in wvw as condi warrior I always have 5-10 bleeds on them.

ATM damage is damage, just gives it different flavor in form of condis. Some classes (Ele, guard) are much better at giving burn where Ranger and thief can do poison. You still have your nitch condi builds also, the ability to KEEP bleed on someone or poison or burn etc.. is huge when condis do more base damage.

If im a Thief and I want to focus on Poison/bleed and I have traits for it, and I can almost always keep it on them Its just like trying to keep 10 bleeds on them now atm. nothing really changes but a easier means to let more players be condi.

the difference is that one stack of burn is all you can do but you need many stacks of bleed to do same dmg, sure the difference aint huge like with poison is completely different as is confusion and torment etc, but with you changes there would be absolutely NO difference at all, you might as well remove burn and replace it with bleeds (or the other way around)

There is no difference….. Burn and bleed are basically the same, torment and poison does have different flavors.

If you really want Burn different, then change it to be over time it adds more damage, so the longer it stays on the more damage it does.
