Guild Wars 2

So Just got my mail and received a free copy. Weird part is, they said I wasn’t a winner yet they’ve given out a copy just for trying. For that I’d like to thanks Anet.
Sure call the submissions lame, silly or even cringe worthy who cares, when’s the last time you’ve heard of Harlem shake? Aye? No other game has given a chance like this so once again thanks GW2! ~ Not sucking up to them (I might for now tho =P), GMs rarely bother reading forums in any and all games, it’s just that I’m really happy! ^^,

Newbie question; Which server should I join? I don’t mind getting PVP’d 4857892 times, I just want a populated server once I hit level 80. Or what server is best for a PVE? I’ve played Tera Rising, DC Universe so don’t really mind any grinding. Read the entire thread to build a Minion Master; http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/70874-chunxs-minion-mastery-guide/ .. Want opinions is it smart/productive for the team being that? Thanks either way!

Not sure what you mean by you dont mind getting pvp’ed 11ty billion times. Any server will be fine for you.

I’m just wondering.. I was in the contest video of what the Guild Wars 2 team considered inspiring videos; therefore i assume that those people would be definite winners right… well I didn’t receive an email. I’m just curious..

There is no open world PvP or PvP servers so you won’t have to deal with that in the PvE environment. For PvE servers I would suggest Blackgate or Tarnished Coast if you are in NA.

There is no open world PvP, if that is what you are referring to. It would be helpful if you indicated if you are more interested in the NA region or the EU region. Welcome to Tyria! =)

@Spawne In Tera Rising, you can get killed by players while free roaming. You don’t even have to accept a duel, just get randomly killed. By pvp’d I just meant that. Lol.

Are all the servers full? Or some are empty. Which one to pick << That’s the tl;dr format of my above question!

BlackGate is the one I was planning on seeing the stats of current WvWvW on an external website. lel

Well, some people say their servers are dead, some people from the same servers say it isn’t so. I can’t say much about the EU servers, as I use NA ones. Some people prefer servers with less queue, some prefer more people. You can guest to other servers in your region for PvE purposes, so if you aren’t especially into WvW, it matters less which one you choose. It depends on what you are looking for…. =)

Servers only really matter for world vs world, since you can “guest” to other servers for everything else. Here is an overview of the servers and their wvw rankins atm (change the settings to US if youre US):

The higher rated servers tend to have really good coverage (wvw activity 24/7), better organization but tend to be a bit more zergy. And they often have longer queues (which will be solved soon with the edge of the mists overflow map).

If you prefer small scale skirmishes over zerg vs zerg combat its probably a better idea to pick a mid tier server.

There’s no open world pking in this game. PVP and World Vs World are separated from PVE. Any server is ok however if you want to focus more on WvW you’d want to look up the wvw rankings and join the top wvw servers.
