Guys you have to precise if you talk about pvp, pve, wvw.
Guardian/dh in pve is really nice! The amount of damage is amazing! For the warrior is the same. You complain about ingi but the direct hammer damage isnt so strong and the rotation is complex and not funny. Fractal group: chrono/war/rev/dh/tempest the most asked. For raiding the condi ingi could be used (rotation ultra complex and the elite spe and the hammer isnt usefull for this build)

Indeed i think the power scrapper has to be down in pvp but archi up in pve

I have constantly been specifying PvE/PvP/WvWvW.
I have also been splitting the core professions from the Elite Specializations.

Also the topic is about being outdated not being the strongest or most damaging class.

Being outdamaged often goes hand in hand with being outdated.
Like the Guardian for example:
Although the Dragonhunter has some nice damage for PvP with traps.
The Guardian in itself does not have this bursty damage.
We have our Greatsword and our Hammer as best sources of damage.
Greatsword being more or less bursty but horribly weak in a defensive way.
Hammer being more defensive but really slow, static and deals less damage.

For the Engineer and Scrapper:

PvE:
Engineer does really well with conditions.
Scrapper does really well for power. (although is intended for shorter fights and is thus not often wanted in raids.)

PvP:
Scrapper is insanely strong in PvP not because it bursts enemies down in 1 hit. But because Scrappers can do just about anything.
They damage, they have cc, they have stealth, they have invulnerability, condi-cleanse, anti-projectile skills, Gyro’s and just about anything really.

Scrappers are really strong because they can do anything and can counter just about anything.
Because of this they are not outdated.

P.S.
Condi-Engi rotations are indeed difficult rotation-wise, but the greatest obstacle is breaking free from the rotations.
I have seen many condi-engi’s perform horribly BECAUSE they always stick to their rotation.
They know the patterns of numbers like:
4, 2, 7, F3, 2, weapon swap or whatever.
But many often don’t even know what their skills actually do.
This is partly because there are so many skills to use.
But the best engineers don’t simply stick to the rotation, they improvise and deduct what to use depending on the ongoing battle.

Rotations are guidelines and I vouch for them being replaced by “skill priorities”.
Max-dps isn’t max-dps in all situations.

Regardless of this all, a difficult rotation for max efficiency has little to nothing to do with professions being outdated or not.

i think the HP system is outdated. the painfully low hp of some classes seriously holds them back, especially considering the new tools at their disposal.
while daredevil is a great elite spec, the 10k base hp makes it very difficult to play daredevil as intended, a brawler.

Daredevil has 3 dodges though.
I’ve always considered thief as a high risk/high reward profession.

The physical skills of the Daredevil and the 3 dodges added a lot of utility and fun to the class for me.

Whenever an attack is about to land you always have a dodge out of it and you’re constantly looking for the best moment to begin a physical skill.
