The New profession Thread
Unfortunately for those who want to see them return, I do believe ArenaNet intended the Engineer to be the spiritual successor to the Ritualist. If this is the case, I don’t think they’re likely to return.
As to what I’d like to see added? I’d like to see a Bard/Minstrel in the game in some form. I don’t have any ideas as to how to make them interesting, but making them kings of support/group buffs would be a good start. I don’t think they’ll ever be added, but that’s my vote for new profession.
As Dark said, I don’t think we will be seeing a return for the Rit.
I would love to see a third heavy profession added, with a 2-3-3 split at the min, a heavy is the most logical place to go.
Maybe do something like a spell knight; using 2 handed weapons (sword/hammer/staff) for ranged attacks, a few 1 handed melee weapons. Something geared more towards offense, mobility and maybe a touch of control.

The ritualists from factions!
it’s kind of hard thinking of a new class without creating an entirely new weapon given the 8 classes anet came out with practically covers every traditional class ever concieved, at least in my mind
the best thing i could think off would be like, some kind of battle mage class
this class would be a mage in heavy armor in a nutshell
i’d imagine this class would basicly play like a melee-oriented mage, so they’d do things like melee with staves, have aoe spells centered around them and have utility skills that focus on defence, aoe and pulling enemies closer to them
their ranged weapons could be the scepter and dagger, the scepter would be closer to a condition/cc ranged weapon similar to a warrior’s longbow and the dagger would be more direct damage/ burst oriented ranged weapon
Ryfaul – 80 Warrior
Fluene – 80 Mesmer
Mesmer = Light
Necromancer = Light
Elementalist = Light
Engineer = Medium
Thief = Medium
Ranger = Medium
Guardian = Heavy
Warrior = Heavy
“_” = Heavy ??
Whatever they make, should be heavy armor.
