2 years later and we still are playing through the same unbalanced and poorly designed missions in the Personal Story. Not to mention the tragic ending which was rushed and forgotten. While the new living story season is on track to be fantastic… New players still have to play through the horror story that is the personal story. The first few missions are engaging and fun… but the pact and order missions are a mess. Some missions go from easy breezey to impossible in a few seconds.

I think arena net needs to make a team and spend some time reworking and making old missions repayable and fun. Make the story easier to understand and balance the missions. And give us an ending and dragon fight we will remember. I can’t see these efforts going to waste. Yes I know we all want new content but a fix like this would bring this game to a new level.

Yeah, the personal story is very boring and ridiculously long, and now we even forced to do and finish it for the traits unlock if we don’t want to pay for it a lot of money and skill points. This is my obvious opinion after I almost finished leveling up my 6th character, and neither of them has the full personal story! I started to do it with every char but bored as hell after some progression. Why we forced to done that?
After doing the story, every single high level missions will take a huge amount of time! Why? And we have bunch of those missions.
And we forced to press the skip button as well at beginning of every low quality cut scene conversations that is annoying as hell too. Nobody thought that so many pl don’t want to see them at all? Why doesn’t have an option to skip all at least if somebody want it?
GW2 would be a good game but has too many and significant annoying parts that will never change, but we always getting more annoying fences and bugs with every patch. This is the way how can ruin a very good base idea. /sad

We will Desolate!

Personal story is actually way more fun when you have a group doing it and you roleplay like a bunch of kitten s. Had some pretty hilarious experiences playing through story with my friends.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Personal Story would be much better if they had done it like in GW and made each of the Story Mode Dungeons part of the Personal Story. In GW you had to do the Missions in order to progress the story. In GW2 the only Dungeon/Mission you HAVE to do is Arah.

My views are really totally different than any I see here.

First, I really enjoyed the personal story and did all of it (except the final dungeon piece) solo. I thought that the missions were about the right length and difficulty. I died occasionally but rarely hit a “brick wall.” In one case, I spent three days (about an hour a day) and many different skill configurations to get past a mission but that was truly the exception.

Finally…I was very disappointed that the final mission was in a dungeon where I was forced to invite four others to my “personal story.” Nothing against dungeons or other players per se…I would just prefer that they not be a part of my own personal story. There are ample opportunities to group up with others. For me, the personal story was just more of an activity I went to when I wanted to play alone for a bit.

Just my own thoughts…clearly others feel differently.

I’m with Elothar on this subject.
I have 8 characters, 2 of them finished the PS and the rest are at least in their lvl 60ish PS step.
In general the PS was nice, a few aspects could be better, like the dialogues using that weird face to face mechanic, and the infamous Zhaitan battle, but overall for a MMO it was a good experience.

Charter Vanguard [CV] – HoD
Bardy Belzebuson – Ranger Sir Belzebu – Herald
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I am about to finish it, for the first time, and I have to ask, am I the only one that HATES Trehearne ?

He is so annoying, especially when in a fight and His ’ Moving on" , I so want to set him on fire and laugh ….. most annoying NPC companion character ever !!

Oh and " Come to me commander I need to talk to you" when stending next to him, gets old real fast !

personal story???? in a MMORPG i was used to play korean grind games like 9Dragons.
i was totally surprised when i got here after release. but now after almost 2 years and 6 characters i truly miss the every day grind to get on to the next level (in 9D it could take a months work to do one level, i hated it but i loved it to).
here at GW2 i miss my goal, why would i grind and what is the point an d above all for what shall i grind. This game has to much grind goals i don’t know what i sould do.
legendary, all the archiefments, ps, ls, pvp’s, wvw, go on go on. there is to much to do in this game. i just want to have a thingy i can do every night after work (i’m not rich i work from 9 to 9 and have 3 kids in university( o no 2, eldest just got her degree in chemistry)).
I just want to have some clear goals in this game. A’net when you guys want to play the itemmall mmo thing right you have to give me more then you are doing now.

I’m honestly perplexed as I read through some of the comments here. There are people that found some of the missions in the personal story challenging…!??!

I just about nearly was AFK for the whole thing, wth. What was I missing out on that was hard? I think the strongest mob in the whole personal story was uh… a veteran.

My companion had a hard part , in the asura PS, where you have to destroy a weather machine, to get to it you have to get through all these elementals that endlessly spawn and knock you down constantly very hard to actually stay up long enough to get to the “villan” and kill him without constant grief from the adds

Clearly not everyone is quite the player that you are.

The last half of the PS is killing risen….. And the NPC’s all die right away. Sure it is easy if you go back at lvl 80 and do the missions… but trying to do them while leveling alone is a pain… and the story itself doesn’t fit together unless you play every mission which you can’t unless you make alts.
