A lonely platinum node sits atop a ledge in the Iron Marches. Sits up there, and taunts all who pass by. See me, and can’t reach me. All who try fail, and none see its platinum secrets! To add insult to injury, a nearby goat keeps walking up to the ledge and taunting the poor folk with its occasional condescending “BAHAAAAA”.

No more!!

When a friend and I were passing by, we decided – we will have our platinum, and kill it’s nearby roaring hell-fiend!!

Yeah, Ive spent hours trying to get it to no avail.

What if the node is not there for me? I’ll check it out in 7+ hours.

I think it’s a permement one. I see it everytime I’m in the area.

I stopped trying after like two minutes, but having gotten bored and poking around other places in the map, I seem to have found the result of a teleporting experiment gone awry.

Look at the mini map in the OP, different node.

Ok I’ll check it again, I used to farm platinum node but I don’t remember having seen this one before.

The rich node is permanent. The node and sometimes a tree that spawns up there isn’t.
There is also a platinum node nearby that can spawn inside a rock but remains mineable.

Another similar node https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/unharvestable-nodes/4025132 but that one is only a copper node.

I remember trying to get to this particular node a month or so ago. I consider myself (somewhat) in the platinum trade, and my constant failure to reach the node was rather irksome.

Perhaps I shall try again.

Saw someone up there today. I was close, but I am one jump short.

Oh, so you think climbing is your ally? But you merely adopted the technique. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the flat ground until I was already a fullgrown goat, by then to me it was only confusing. The rich platinum ore betray you because they belong to me.

People get to this specific one, I watched one—-not a bot—mine it and the op has pics of there success.
BTW 1 or 2 (even a dozen) nodes that cannot be reached would have 0 (zero) effect on bots—thye wouldn’t evn bother with them—but that really has nothing to do with
with the thread.

I’ve always been baffled by how to get up there too. If anyone wants to take pity on a poor platinum farmer, send me a PM (so as not to spoil the fun for people who want to find the route themselves ).

Small note: The node in your screenshots is not the node I was at, however, it is steps away on the very same high plateau, overlooking the region.

There’s actually three known ways to get to this, but….two of them are limited by class, and one of those is racist against norn. But there is one way that seems open to all……..

And Korrosive, don’t forget our guildie that helped us figure this out. You owe someone a precursor for not giving credit.

I never realized this node was such a mystery. I always grabbed it on the way to the fire shaman if I had some extra time.

True indeed! Alas I don’t know his name, and we have no screenee of him :-( once I do I’ll be sure to send him all the precursors in the TP…

And yes I forgot to mention there is more than one way up there, but with my Norn mesmer (worst jumping combination in gw2) could only make it through 1.
