This Featurepack that came in, highlights an ongoing issue within the development of Guild wars 2. The most tragic part is that the creators of the game seem to be oblivious of the problem. Almost to a point that suggests that they choose to ignore the blatant issue all together.
Guild wars 2, features, perhaps more than story line, or world, Players. These players are quick thinkers, highly intelligent and cunning in the best ways. They seek challenges, obstacles, they want to feel that they’ve accomplished something at the end of the day. Sadly the powers that be, the Development Team underestimates the players, dumbs down or removes content entirely and the challenge of Guild wars 2 is lost.
In the recent update, among various inevitable bugs, we find that monsters that ‘require players to dodge’ have been removed or reworked, enemy classes are limited to Veteran, even the ability to be defeated is lost in the tutorial instances. Skills, options and abilities are locked, as to not confuse the player. Level requirements increased on everything so that we don’t get in over our heads.
The point, Anet, is that this isn’t what we we’re after and frankly you’re severely underestimating your consumer base, and it’s insulting.

We shouldn’t let this get buried, its as close to the truth as it gets.

The worst thing is that there is no option for turning off the “Anet thinks im to stupid to understand the most basic mechanics” function in the game.

Were you able to be defeated in the tutorial before?

I have a vague memory of farming the human starter area’s defend the gates event using my pet just to see whether it would work and I don’t think I died.

That said, the level gating is awful. You can’t even skip past it with birthday scrolls either since utility skills come at 24, 35 and 40 (Elite skills were 30, but at least you had them by the time the first dungeon opened.)

Gw2 went from being a pretty decent MMO to a game designed for preschool kids…. actually that’s an insult to preschoolers… kitten even my Pet Rock can just sit on the 1 button all day

I made a remark in one of the other threads, Asking if A-net thinks we’re Poeple or Lobotomized Shrimp.

But your pet rock probaby has as much IQ kitten my lobotomized shrimp hammering away at the 1 key with it’s front legs on the w and wagging it’s tail from a to d….

- 5 minutes later -

I almost had to kill my little shrimp, he wanted to format the c: drive… Not that it would have been a big deal, it’s nicely backed up, but it would take unneccesary time.
He was so unhappy playing after the patch , I was forced to remove the link to Gw2 from his personal account.
He feels better now, he’s playing Pong and finds it way more challenging.

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

thanks for the replies, it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who thinks like this.
I’m considering making a thread to petition a rollback on the latest update, maybe that’ll get their attention

A better solution (to both petitioning and posting this type of feedback) is to post your ideas constructively – relate your experiences to the content, give constructive feedback about what is and is not working, and avoid using generalizations about “the player base”.

The development team prefers players to use a format that is easy to navigate and digest, such as bullets and headings.

Respectfully, posts like this one offer no opportunity for constructive criticism as the original post sets the tone for negativity and toxicity. It offers a lot of opportunity to go off topic, at which point it will be moderated and likely closed.
