Hey Bookahs!
I think I found the main use for the Mystic binding agent. This should explain it well enough:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QF8DEZSz0H0#t=184s1
1 Wine, 1 Crystal, 4 Shards and a Dust = ONE CORE
1 Binding agent, 1 Crystal, 4 Shards and a Dust = TWO CORES
In other words, it doubles what you put in, so I could put in 8 Sliver and it would give 4 Fragments back instead of 2 fragments. So if you have a bunch of Charged Fragments and sliver, then you could just make some Charged lodestones.
TL;DR The binding agent doubles what you get out when changing Sliver to Fragments but not lodestones.
Wow, nice find. My only regret is that I’m not at my home computer to make some gold off of this…
this is amazing! the value of the binding agent just went up, the value of cores just went down, which means the value of the binding agent will go down, but is probably still more value than an elonian wine, which will drop the price of the lodestone since more people are combining cores to make lodestones
Hmm… if it made 2 lodestones it might have been useful.
I’m still saving up for my necklace.
Thanks for the info, I hope they don’t nerf it by the time I get to try it…
I bet this gets nerfed asap
I thought it was just 2 shards to form 1 core. Not 4 shards. Thus not really saving anything.
Was I wrong?
Is it time to invest in slivers, shards, cores, fragments before prices skyrocket?
If you watch the video carefully you will see that the Mystic Binding Agent seems to allow him to batch the fragments into cores.
So for example normal you can do this,
2 Fragments + 1 Pile of Incandescent Dust + 1 Crystal + 1 Elonian Wine = 1 Core
With the Mystic Binding Agent you can do,
4 Fragments + 1 Pile of Incandescent Dust+ 1 Crystal + 1 Mystic Binding Agent = 2 Core.
I watched through your video and without actually being able to use the Mystic Binding Agent this is what I think it does. Remember these ratios…
1 Lodestone = 2 Cores = 4 Fragments = 8 Shards = 16 Slivers
Originally you could do this,
2 Sliver + 1 Crystal + 1 Pile of Radiant Dust + 1 Elonian Wine = 1 Fragment
To get enough Fragments to make a Lodestone you would need to do that above formula 8 times. Now with the Mystic Binding Agent it seems like you can do this,
16 Sliver + 1 Crystal + 1 Pile of Radiant Dust + 1 Mystic Binding Agent = 8 Fragments
You can then take those 8 Fragments and toss them into the forge like so,
8 Fragments + 1 Crystal + 1 Pile of Luminous Dust + 1 Mystic Binding Agent = 4 Shards
Then,
4 Shard + 1 Crystal + 1 Pile of Incandescent Dust + 1 Mystic Binding Agent = 2 Cores
And finally,
2 Cores + 1 Crystal + 1 Pile of Crystalline Dust + 1 Mystic Binding Agent = 1 Lodestone.
Again, I haven’t actually got my hands on the mystic binding agents so I am not sure. But, closely watching the above video and this is the conclusion I come to.
It definitely does NOT double the output. That much is clear from the video.
The OP states;
1 Wine, 1 Crystal, 4 Shards and a Dust = ONE CORE
1 Binding agent, 1 Crystal, 4 Shards and a Dust = TWO CORES
This DOES NOT HAPPEN in the video. Watch it. This is what happens,
1 Wine, 1 Crystal, 2 Shards and a Dust = ONE CORE
1 Binding agent, 1 Crystal, 4 Shards and a Dust = TWO CORES

If that’s true, since 16 onyx slivers(cost 1.5s, well they DID cost 1,5s) = 30s
So one lodestone = 30s, so long as you are willing to give up binding agent uses?
You guys do realize that this information was already in the wiki a long time ago?

Actually, everything in this thread is not in the wiki.
All the wiki says is that 1 mystic binding agent = 1 elonian wine. That is not what is being discussed in this thread.

mystic agent+lodestone+?+?=?

i did try using the lodestones but it didn’t work with the binding agent. They lied to us again

Thank you for featuring me on your blog
I bought the Mystic Binding Agents today. It works like this,
8 slivers + 1 dust + 1 Crystal + 1 MBA = 4 fragments
6 fragments + 1 dust + 1 crystal + 1 MBA = 3 shards
4 shards + 1 dust + 1 crystal +1 MBA = 2 cores
2 cores + 1 dust + 1 crystal + 1 MBA = 1 lodestone
If you put the MBA into the forge the lodestones grey out.
Ask me anything on this. I haven’t used the MBAs yet so if there is a recipe you want me to try let me know.
So for example, the normal recipe from fragments to shards was that
2 fragments + 1 dust + 1 crystal + 1 wine = 1 shard
And using the Mystic Binding Agent instead of wine allows you to put it in batches of 3 for this case, and giving you 3 shards as a result? So it’d save buying 2 bottles of wine? That’s interesting. Seeing that the ratio seems to decrease as we go up the tiers, the only one that isn’t changed is core to lodestone, correct? Every other recipe seems beneficial though.
But Laurels are a very limited item that I would think should be reserved for Ascended gear for all of your Alts shouldn’t they?

hmmm can’t log in now. What’s the price on silvers now? 1g already? ^^

Actually they are still pretty low, but they are going up slowly
MBA sliver to frag to shard to does not work: it’s greyed out.
only thing that works is using MBA’s to make 2 cores into one lodestone.
Try it again. I’ve been playing with putting the correct order in for several hours with corrupted, destroyer, molten, glacial, onyx, and charged. from slivers – no joy to frags to shards. no luck until you put cores in to box then it will give ya a lodestone.
