The Ridiculousness of Crafting Precs
Okey three things
I agree its not the best that certain events must fail to get the right thing done.
BUT
For the first event, if you log on after after a patch update all maps are reset. Sooo there is nothing to defend and therefore you can get your event. What I did when I needed a similar event done.
For teq, try getting on a map not full. Log off when started and back on, prob getting on different server with fewer ppl. Then easy to get it slow to 75%.
The more you know

i didnt know that patch thing, but even that is problematic. Who knows when the next patch will hit, so instead of getting my legendary when i have everything ready and good to go, i have to hang around a map for 6 hours OR pray that a patch hits?
As for teq, i tried that too, and it just sent me into a map with 0 people and 1 minute left on the timer and 0 dmg on teq. so no whirlpools there either.
When you work as hard as you have to to get a leg in this game, and only spend 10 bucks here and there to speed it up a little bit (bought a few deldrimor ingots for t2 steps) you shouldnt have to depend on random conditions and praying that things go wrong. You should be rewarded with the thing you worked for, ESPECIALLY if youre not getting what you need cause youre doing an event TOO WELL. like….. wut?
None of this is directed at you btw, just my thoughts on the matter.
+ they have said they are looking into the events that require another event to fail first for precursor crafting.
We dont know if these devs looking into it are the same ones that are moved to living story team and are not looking into it anymore tho.

hopefully theyre looking into events like Teq too, since it doesnt have to fail, it just cant be done so…. well. which is just as f***ing stupid.

That’s good advice if you can be at home when the patch hits. For everyone in Europe the patch is usually mid-afternoon on a Tuesday, when most people are at work.
So making sure you’re in the map just after the patch would require taking a day off, which seems a bit much just for one part of a collection for a cosmetic item in a game.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
regarding the whirlpools.
do you mean those that suck you down to get the “treasure”?
If yes: they also spawn on a “fast” Tequ, you just don’t see them properly.
Stand close to one of the bone whips (I did use the landside ones close to the water opposite the turrets) always before the defence event start (even the first) and look out closely for one, it usually spawns right at the foot of it.
You don’t see them very well from all the clutter.
I was going crazy trying to get the achievment until someone told me.
The whirlpools do open on fast teq – As soon as he hits 75% and the phase starts to change, a few whirlpools open up. I’ve been sucked down five or six times so far since starting last month (And stopping with SAB’s release)

So stand near a bone whip close to shore near the turrets?
