The Tengu/Caromi.
Guy named Bird wants the Tengu as a playable race.
Totes legit.
I really do want them playable though. Original design notes showed the possibility, and there’s a big hole in the map for Dominion of Winds, so maybe by the next expansion, we’ll have them available.

As much as I’d like that, it would take a lot of work. They would have to make all armor fit them, and that’s a lot. there body design is very different to the races we currently have. It would be a huge undertaking. It is a lot easier to add new classes, than it is to add new races. Maybe in GW3, but as much as I would like it to happen, I can’t see it happening.

Yeah, it would be a ton of work. They could crib the skeleton work off the Charr, and I think Tengu were slated for the “animal” slot early on, so it works out, in a way. But doing the QA on that would be a lengthy process, so I don’t foresee them doing it.

I would like to meet the great, great, great grandchild of Talon Silverwing… and see if they have asthma like their great, great, great grandfather.
It could be done and I agree it would be awesome, it would just take a long time.
I’d love the option for females to look like pretty hawks and whatever with light feathers – while makes look more fierce.
The racial armor/weapons would probably be Aztec-like.
Yes. I want to be a colorful rainbow parrot bird of death.
Or an eagle of FREEDOM.
The day Tengu/Caromi become playable (if they become so – finger x-ed!) I’ll make one first thing!!!
So what if the armor takes awhile to tinker with? Can we not be patient and wait for them to deal with that if it’s gonna be a playable race???
Hopefully—HOPEFULLY—the next expansion will have a new playable race. It definitely would be a lot of work, but based on the wiki the Tengu are already partially on the way to being a playable race: their skeleton is based on/identical to the Charr’s and they have various models and animations, even ones that didn’t get used.
The main draw for me for a new playable race would just be more lvl1-79 zones. I actually really enjoyed leveling through the game the first time through, and if they made the lower-level zones just a bit harder (not smash-your-face difficulty, just slightly more dangerous), I would be EXTREMELY excited to play every bit of GW2 again. Even without a new race I’d love new zones from lvl1-79, though at least as the game currently stands a new race is the most obvious reason for those getting added. Revive the rest of the game, ANet! It’s so beautiful.

If they’re short of breath, it’s because they have to add so many "great"s! :P

Yeah, new sub-80 zones drool. A puppy dies every time they add another level 80 thing to the game.
Seriously though, I loved encountering the zones the first time. I am still finding new stuff: npcs I never noticed and such, but it is just fleshing out places I already know. In fact, if I had the choice between a new race, a new profession, and new sub-80 zones (not new zones and a new race) I would probably pick the new zones.
We have airships, why can’t we look over that wall and see what’s going on in the Dominion of Winds? Is it too windy or something?

Maybe they have this new technology known as a roof?
Over the whole friggin’ nation?
Over the whole friggin’ nation?
They built a wall. It faces upwards. :P

While we fight the dragons, as they tear down our homes,
The tengu are out gathering all the best stones.
Then they’ll use them rocks to build a wall,
Dip it in gold and make Soren’dra pay for it all!
curious if anyone gets the reference
