Correct me if I’m wrong, the new weapons dropping from the mobs… come from the chest right?

The chests should give out recipe + part of weapon (imagine precursor), and you should craft it under a specific profession. That way it uses your crafting profession and makes it like you accomplish something through your craft.

For the most part GW2 seems to be quite good right now, but I’ll still look on with skeptical eyes on what anet does next. Every time someone finds a nice spot to farm, anet tends to go crazy with the nerf bat.

Anet doesn’t want you farming, Anet wants you to enjoy the game(their way, not yours)

You implement the system you describe and these skins suddenly lose any value. We don’t need these skins flooding the market. Rarity is good.

Because everyone cares about the market, value or rarity?

No.

I’d actually rather there be tons of regular old skins running around the game than tons of incredibly rare skins only seen on the trade post. I think we need more easy to get skins.

You may not but Anet does. There is a reason they have an economist on staff.

There are several easy to acquire skins. Go look at the trading post for all the cheap exotic/rare skins under 5g. Go look at dungeon armors, karma armors, cultural, e.t.c.

There are going to be common and there are going to be rare skins. If you don’t want to put the effort/gold into acquiring the rare ones, then you sure as hell dont’ deserve it.

Really? I can farm for years and years and if my luck sucks I’ll never get any of these skins. How’s that putting effort in for skins?

When I buy/find my genesis, I want to be proud of it. I don’t want to encounter 20 other people with genesis every day. That is why I crafted foe fires essence. Rarity is good.

Atm they are easily over 300g in TP but only an idiot buys one when they have been out for only 2 days. The price will drop to more affordable levels but hopefully not too low.

The skins aren’t account bound. If you farm for “years and years” you most likely earn enough gold to buy it outright.

Or I guess the better alternative is to have all these awesome skins easy to acquire once you log-in, and then go on the forums to complain how you are bored of GW2 because there are no goals you can set for yourself.

What’s the fun of logging in and having the BIS, best-looking pieces on your character ASAP?

You know this is permanent content right? All the new weapons are inside champ bags as a chance drop, it’s only been 1 day thus far

couple months, they’ll be pretty cheap

How the heck does it lose any value? Same drop rate of material X (equivalent to the weapon drops right now) + recipe drop (100% drop rate along with material X) + some additional mats, = skin flooding the market? You assumed wrongly. If anything the material put in will add into the cost of making such a weapon.

Yea guys ANet cares about rarity….isn’t that evident by how they implemented legendary weapons?
