The death of Leveling

black screen with a prompt: Play Tutorial? Yes – No
If yes:
Black scenario with your char in the middle with a spot light… text explaining whily you try things out on training dummies.
If no: Go to first instance like it was in the original gw2.
I mean, it’s not rocket science! Mobile phone games have better design than this.
It´s fantastic. Now I only need a keyboard with bigger buttons and I can train my dog to farm for me in GW2. It´s about exactly his learning curve. 50 times “skill2”, I bet he understands it in half the time.
It´s not even botting, because my dog has just as much brain as A-Net thinks their average player has.
Well done.
I honestly can’t believe this is how the game is now. Its like I’ve woken up in a nightmare. Good thing Warlords of Draenor comes out soon.
I’ve been trying to get my friends into GW2, but with these new leveling changes they thought the game was a joke. You can’t even die in the first instance. Maybe if they had rebalanced the personal story and added a more comprehensive tutorial on how the game worked at early levels…. people would enjoy it more. This new patch is for inept preschoolers. Just make it a kids game now since anything with a brain will be avoiding it.
You haven’t been able to die in the first instance for ages. Possibly because it has no way point. I found this out well over a year ago when I had to go afk in a starting instance and came back half an hour later to my character cowering at the foot of a centaur.
This patch is a nightmare.

They already talked about this, a developer stated that their metrics showed that it was better to steadily introduce new players to mechanics than to explain them.
So what I’ve taken from this is that Anet needs to fire its entire statistics department and blacklist them from ever working in this industry, because that is one the STUPIDEST things I have ever heard!
I’m not an educator but my Dad was, and I was homeschooled and well above the curve in nearly every subject growing up, so I worked with his kids a lot. You will not find a single educator anywhere that claims that not introducing students to learning paths will cause them to learn them better later on. Everything we know shows that the best retained information is that which students are introduced to earliest and most in depth. Not introduced to in a cursory manner at a later date without reason.
These changes completely go against everything anyone knows about education.

They also said in a post that they didn’t develop a tutorial because it was too demanding and hard and in reddit they said that the tutorial they made didn’t work out… so…
It’s a lie…

I tried doing this with my cat, but all he did was sit at the keyboard and stare at me with utter contempt.
I got a level-up reward, can’t even salvage it -_-
